Great shave! Trufitt&hill pre shave oil, dollar shea shave butter, 1 st pass on setting 5, 2nd on 2. Smooth as silk. Razor way too expensive but it was a gift to myself. Based on shave results I was worth it. Sits great in hand, knurling gives great control. Outstanding machining. Read more

I have several adjustable razors. Gillette Fatboy, Slim, Super Adjustable, Blackland Osprey, but this is my favorite adjustable razor. Aggressive on the higher settings which I like. Great shaver and built like a tank. If a nuclear bomb hits my house, this razor will be the only thing left. Read more

I own several adjustable Razors. They are as follows: 1983 Gillette Black Beauty, Parker Variant, Rockwell 6C , Murker Variant, and the Rex Ambassador. The Rex is by far my favorite! The quality is exceptional and it gives me the closest shave out of all my razors. It is expensive, however for me it was well worth the price. If I could only have one razor this would be my go to! With that being said, the Murker is also a great performer and a good alternative at a substantial cost savings. Read more

I had high hopes for it as I've read so many great reviews. However, this is what my experience was. The blades do not align with the alignment bumps. The bumps do not protrude enough to align the blade so the blade shift around and is actually dangerous to use. If I could give it zero stars I would. It's unsafe to use even once. I Intend to throw it out as I've already thrown out the box it came in and cannot return it. I would cut my throat with the thing if I used it. The one I got is actually dangerous to use. See picture: consistently misaligns the blade with one side slightly more prominent than the other side. Multiple blades tried so it is the razor not the blades. Will reach out to the manufacturer... They need to address the quality control problem before someone gets hurt. Read more

While the price is a bit steep, you’ll get a great ROI! Other electric razors have high price points, but a great wet shave is unbeatable. I’ve been shaving over 45 years with DE razors. I’ve used many, but this razor is in a sophisticated class of its own. The weight feels classy, the curves are sexy, and the adjustments include all beard types. I especially like the knurled handle. I’m a cancer survivor, so the handle helps me to hold the razor better than I could with other similar styles. I was on the fence before buying this razor until I found out Matt Pisarcik (Razor Emporium) was part of the inspiration behind the instrument. After I dug a bit deeper, I was impressed with REX shaving supply company and was “all in!” I’m very proud to own this razor, the inspiration & vision behind it, and the vintage shave experience it offers. Well done! Read more

I will write a very honest review, since I don't write often reviews. PROS: Quality of stainless steel. One of the best in the market if not the best. Serial number engraved. You can visit their website and see when it was assembled (year and quarter). Only company that does that. Grip. The grip is unbeatable. Even if you have a tonne of cream or soap in your hand it goes nowhere. A huge plus. The switch. Very solid and it goes up to 6.5. CONS: The Mechanics of the cap and the safety bar UNACCEPTABLE. It gets really aggressive and you have to use 1.5 to 2 on the adjustable bar. I am saying this since I have a 20 years experience using open comb DE RAZORS and STRAIGHT RAZOR Blades. For me that part plays 70% when rating a safety razor. I makes it a NO NO for a beginner or an intermediate level of shaving skills. Value for money? No way you should honestly do a better job when you can have adjustable safety razors for under 100 bucks that are a lot better in mechanics. A Rockwell 6S is a good choice if you are willing to spend $100, which I use. I also use a merkur slant and my favorite is Muhle 41 R. I have tried it with different razorblades in order to write a fair review and I was always proved wrong as much as I wanted to keep it I am returning it. I tried it with Feather 3 times, with KAI 2 times, and once by: Merkur, Parker, Derby, Astra, Gillette Blue, and Wilkinson. I am returning it tomorrow. I will wait for a couple of years and I will buy it again since it has a lot of pros, and as I have read a couple of reviews the fix things, hopefully the mechanics of the razor become better. It's American made, tool like, sturdy in hand, fine craftsmanship and should last a lifetime. If it doesn't then the lifetime warranty has you covered. I ordered mine and received it in 8 days...I live in Japan by the way ;) The razor head holds the blade securely with absolutely no wiggle room. The razor has some weight to it so little to no pressure is needed. I'm African American and have NO problems with this razor so if you are like me and have a thick curly beard make the switch, safety razors are the way. I use the 1-2.5 range and I'm good to go! It's expensive yes but you can't beat the craftmanship, warranty and the fact that its Steele. Read more
