Rockport Mens Garett Plain Toe Oxford Shoes

I wore a pair of rockport shoes very similar to these for 2 years in the rainy Dominican Republic from 1990-1992. I walked miles each day through all kinds of weather, and they were comfortable and held up amazingly well. I had heard that over the years the quality had waned significantly, but decided to try them again. I have had this new pair for a year and almost 4 months now, and have been very pleased with them. The comfort hasn't changed, and they still look great after 15 months of Sundays. The upper is stitched to the soles, which I like. They haven't scuffed yet, and still easily buff out to a shine. Granted, I don't wear them 7 days a week in tropical weather like I did in the 90's, but when my son left recently to spend 2 years in Korea I sent him off with a pair of these. I just got these like 30 minutes ago and its safe to go ahead and give a 5 star review. Delivery was on time. 1 day delivery. The shoe is incredibly well made and is of the more modern style. Here is where it gets important: its not just a good looking shoe, its built for comfort. I returned 2 other brands before getting these. Both brands, Stacy Abrams and Bruno Marc, produced a good looking shoe that was completely unwearable....unless you wanted an ER visit for a foot amputation later. These Rockports have a soft tongue that lays comfortably upon the front of your ankle; no break in required. Highly recommend this brand even if they are slightly more costly. Read more

Looks nice, seems comfortable. Unfortunately, the shoe is too long.....seems a bit elongated. I'm an established size 11 and the toebox on these size 11's extended a good inch beyond my big toe. Read more

Great shoes - seems to run a size too big. I wear 10.5 in almost all shoes, but I had to exchange these for a smaller size. Updated: they have gotten scuffed up incredibly easy over e past few weeks. I work in an office with carpet and a 10 foot walk from door to car. They are comfortable but look like they’re a few years old already. Read more
