OH BOY!

BlossomOctober 5, 2024

In the interest of full disclosure... I'm 5'5"/237 and probably shouldn't be buying ANY clothes until the Wegovy kicks in for real. But, just as a test, because these things never work out when ya got curves (No matter my size, my waist to-bum differential is... significant), and I definitely prefer a skim fit over a sausage casing no matter my weight. I ordered the XXL in Brown, first(😉), because Brown (especially Black Coffee Brown, which this, unfortunately, is not 😪, - though it's still gorgeous) is VERY hard to find. I felt an extremely unusual thing when I pulled the dress from the bag: POSITIVITY. And, guess what? I quickly put it on and was SO impressed. It was perfect! I still can't believe I'm not nursing disappointment again. Bearing in mind the size I got (XXL), and MY stats (5'5"/currently 237, but working on that)..... * This dress is a semi-clingy skim-fit (Neither tight, nor loose), with great stretch. Very forgiving. Very flattering, considering. * It is a fine ribbed-knit MATTE weave. It has none of that weird unnatural glossy sheen you see in the weave of so many of these column style dresses, * Nice texture, feels soft. *The fiber label reads 70% Viscose and 30% Chinlon (an internet search states that ChinLon stands for CHINese NyLON, described as a finer, smoother fiber that's more durable and resiliant than nylon/poly). * Care instructions read: "Machine wash Cold, Gentle. Wash separately. Do not bleach. Tumble dry LOW, remove promptly. Iron LOW. DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER. DO NOT DRY CLEAN." * Because I have no idea if this fiber will pill I will wash the dress inside-out, in a large, fine mesh bag. I will use a color guard detergent, though maybe unnecessary. Nonetheless, I don't take any chances with colors and fading, and that stuff works! I strongly suspect if I mess up this dress (THESE dressES... Stay tuned😉), I'll never find another style which pleases me as well. Neither the sleeve cuffs, at the wrists, nor the hem are serged or sewn, but are self-knit finished. So, if any of the lengths are too long for you I'm not sure IF they can be altered easily (without unraveling, etc.) or at all. I have slightly long-ish arms and the cuffs hit about 2" too long on me. I might look into finding a top-tier tailor to see if that can be adjusted - but will likely simply turn them up at the wrist, since that looks perfectly fine. I am happy with the hem length, for now, since the hem on me hits just below the knee. The really good news is that, if you're thinking you may want or need to take in the dress at the sides it DOES have side seams, which should make doing so a little easier, though you would still likely need a pro or the skill level of one (unravelling, again) to do it without causing irreperable damage. I have tried enough columnar turtleneck sweater dresses through the years to know they rarely fit right or look anything like the picture (and these dresses are always shown on very thin, not curvy, women) so I wasn't expecting anything akin to satisfaction. Honestly, I couldn't be happier to see, finally, someone got the fit of a classy turtleneck column sweater dress right - and at a reasonable price point. This is the only one I've been VERY happy with. Obviously, I immediately ordered the deeper shade of heather gray, the black, and the Camel, because I'm all about The (neutral) Capsule Wardrobe. These dresses are fast selling out so, hopefully, Amazon will make sure they don't disappear. If your interest is piqued, I REALLY wouldn't hesitate. It's just dumb luck that I ordered the brown yesterday, got it today, loved it, and was able to immediately order three more colors before they ran out. But nothing's a done deal until you have it in your hands so 🤞 Read more

Fit and quality

Really a cute warm dress for the season. Nice fit, nice thickness and quality. Does not look cheap, so far it is wrinkly resistant and maintains it shape after washing. Read more

Nice simple black sweater dress

ShannonJanuary 23, 2025

Bought this dress, unfortunately, for my mom’s funeral. Since it’s cold outside I needed a warmer material that I could wear inside & outside. This material worked for that. I wore it with a nice thick multicolored pink scarf. My mom liked pink. The style is casual but elegant. It’s a midi length. The stretch of the fabric is good. The turtleneck was a bit snug (I don’t like any pressure on my neck), so I stretched it to the point of breaking a couple of threads. It fit better after that. I wore a stretchy belt with the dress to give it a visual stopping place as the dress is long and straight & mostly fitted. It would look good on a curvy figure too. It’s a comfortable dress. I added short boots & leg warmers. I’m glad I bought it. I didn’t have to think about the dress, meaning no issues with it. I would recommend it. Read more

Thick & heavy sweater dress.

Robin D.November 26, 2025

Love this dress & it fits well for my petite size. The sweater material is heavy & thick. After reading the other reviews, I bought this dress in 2 colors but in 2 different sizes, one Small & one Extra Small. They both fit the same but the XS was shorter. Both will do nicely. Will pair with a chain belt. Will try to update with pictures at a later date. Read more

Nice quality fabric, but I didn't like the cut

Aeri V.November 12, 2024

My first impression of the dress was that it was heavy (in a good quality way). The fabric was thick, and felt warm when I tried it on (definitely a fall/winter garment). My issue is with the cut of the dress. I ordered according to the size chart waist measurement, and while this dress fit pretty well from the waist down (I would have preferred it a little bit tighter), the bodice was incredibly loose. There was this mass of unused space right under my armpits. I think it might work better on someone with a bigger bust size. In the end I returned it due to my issues with the fit, but I had no issues with the quality. Read more
