I bought this to get away from butane and other fluid lighters that crap out too quickly. My wife will primarily use this to light candles. It works well and is long and flexible enough to reach 6-8 inches into a candle holder. This lighter works very well. Edited review, initially I was too harsh in its total uses before charging without emphasizing its positive aspects. Pros: Reliable, rechargable, the bend-part is high-quality and maintains its form. You won't be sad if you're in windy conditions and need a spark. You'll also have it forever as long as you can charge it. Cons: Needs recharging sooner than I'd like. These are great lighters. I love how easy it is to light a candle, etc, with the bendable aspect. However, they have a very short life on how many times they can be recharged. In the set of two that I had, I used one a total of about 10 times, and the other about 15 times. The first one was charged initially, and then after suddenly dying when just sitting on my desk, wouldn't charge again. The 2nd was kept charged most of the time, except when in use. But it died in under a week. The worst part is that it's not really clear when they die. You can charge them, but there's no real indicator that it's charging. Mine, that sat on my desk, I charged for a day. It went to 3 bars. I pressed the button once, and it was at 2 bars. Pressed it again, and it was at 1 bar. Then it's dead.
