Compared to the typical liquid form, the thicker viscosity of this product makes it much easier to use. The 1 oz. quantity is helpful here, since povidone iodine has a short shelf-life (Most sources I found report it's best to use it 2-4 weeks/1 month after opening, and that the potency gradually decreases after that.
