Where has this comb been all my life? I am not kidding. The Teflon coating as well as the tines being round AND fully rounded ends means this comb works through double coats of Goldens like butter when line combing or maintenance combing. Easy to tease out tangles and this comb is comfortable for ME to use, too. I have an 11.5 yr old with a heavy show-type undercoat/feathering and a 10 mo old who is in that awkward coat stage, but will have more of a field influenced coat. My 11.5 yr old has never liked slickers (even with me using them correctly), has put up with coat rakes and so many kinds of failed brushes. Turns out the issue is how it touches her skin. She loves greyhound combs. She sees one and flops on the couch. I found one (half the as good as this) and we thought we were in heaven. Puppy grabbed it and it's been lost. I have tried multiple greyhound combs that either snagged her hair because of cheap tines that weren't round or they hurt my hand to use. She would rather just have the wide end of a greyhound comb run through her locks and fall asleep while we watch TV at night than me pet her in the same scenario. I opened the package and just spent 2 hrs combing. Both girls took turns and were not happy to have to share. My senior loves this comb so much she asked to have her belly combed out with it. That is normally only her Pantene rubber tipped soft pin brush territory. My puppy was really comfortable and did not want to bite the comb every 6 or 7 comb swipes. This DOES remove undercoat. The media could not be loaded. This is very sturdy and well made (not plastic). I wanted something that would last for a long time that I wouldn’t have to replace and this fits the bill! It has two different teeth spacing, one on each end so you can use it on more than one coat type. It works well, I use it for removing the heavy undercoat of one of my cats. He has thick hair so I use the end with the wider spacing so that it glides through his hair more easily. It also has a small hole on one end that you could use to run a string through to make a loop to hang it up. Solid purchase, very satisfied. Read more
Grooming combs are as much about feel and balance as they are about going through hair or fur. This comb has those properties for me. The feel is superior, not too heavy, not too light. It moves through my girls hair smoothly. The balance is spot on, meaning that you can use the course or fine tines through the hair or fur without feeling that one side or the other is "off." I will note that the tines are a tad (3/32", plus or minus) shorter than the comb I'm retiring. The retiring comb, by the way, is a brass spine Black Champion made in England that I bought some 30 plus years ago when I first started showing dogs. It's one of those mystical/mythical combs that I've been trying to find over the last seven years or so. Alas, I'm afraid they've gone out of business or else have stopped doing business over here. However, after using this new comb on my favorite girl, I would say give it a try. It truly is an excellent comb whether replacing one or getting one for your first pet. Read more
When I got my Maine Coon kitten 2 years ago, the breeder included one of these in the “new kitten package” she supplied. Being more used to using various brushes or a Furminator on my previous cats & my dogs, I was initially reluctant to use this comb. Why didn’t I listen to the breeder? This comb not only surpasses other the effectiveness of other grooming tools, but the cat tolerates being groomed much better when I use this comb! My original is still in perfect condition, but since kitty travels with me to our second home, I bought this one to leave & use there! Great comb for a long haired cat! Read more

My vet used a similar comb to this Greyhound Style Teflon Comb when grooming my Persian cats, so I decided to purchase this one. It's a good length and the different teeth on either side make it good for those tough to comb places. Works well on dogs and cats, and feels a bit sturdier than other more generic combs. Slightly pricier than I was expecting, but the sturdiness makes up for it. Read more
We have a long haired domestic/Norwegian cat who is an indoor cat and has beautiful hair and this comb is my favorite to use as it glides through her fur. It has a wide tooth and smaller tooth end, though the smaller tooth end is not small enough to check for fleas. The comb is metal and very sturdy. It has rounded ends and is easy to hold and the cat appears to like it. We have 5 comb/brushes in our cat tools and this one is one of my favorites to use. Read more
