I'm going to borrow from a Five Star review of Michael Cast's. "Thinking he's going to die anyway, he decides to do one last meaningful thing before his life ends." That's the plot of this fantastic movie. It also briefly shows the underside of homelessness in New York. Seeing a homeless man murdered for a pair of boots in the shelter brought me back to The Saint of Fort Washington. I was surprised that Statham and the guy who was slain did not put the boots inside the legs of the cot which would have made them all but impossible to steal. Statham sees a young girl named Mei pursued by tough guys from the Russian mob and decides to intervene. He does and kills and maims all those who seek the girl. But with the Chinese Triads also seek the girl as well as the crooked NYPD. All that stands between her and certain death is the Jason Statham. This was a great movie. Statham's best acting to date. The film was written very well and actually has much more plot than it really needs. For instance, the guy Statham dispatches in the end was not needed at all. Mei could have been retrieved another way. To me it was an unnecessary character that overburdened the film. But that's my quibble. The end of the film sets things ripe for a sequel. The Russians? The Triads? What about the crooked mayor of New York and his perfidious cronies? Let's pray they have a sequel with Mei grown up or a teenager. She's incredible! A super genius and when she grows up would no doubt become a millionaire with her great talents. Unfortunately this film did not do well in the box office. Indeed, I don't even remember it being in the theatres. It came and went so fast as to not even leave a trace of its passing. Nevertheless, as Michael Cast said: This is a great film. I'm the 1546th person to review the film and I give it Five Stars. A. Nathaniel Wallace, Jr. Read more
This is another good Jason Statham vehicle. The action comes in fast and furious fashion, and Statham plays the flawed hero perfectly. I quite enjoyed his interaction with the young girl in the film; it reminded me a bit of how he related to the kid in "Transporter 2." There probably aren't any surprises in this film, but it's great fun to watch, if you are a Statham fan. And, really, why wouldn't you be? Read more

When John Statham starred a movie, what do you expect from him in a movie? Less talking more fighting or the other way around? I love watching John Statham in a movie, not as a talker, sweet talker what so ever because he's not good a it BUT for sure, as a fighter, a strong and bold one. I followed his path in Hollywood. From a small parts to a bigger one and when he started Transporter, i shouldn't miss that, i said to myself. Indedd, i'm correct about that. John Statham is an actor full of suprise. He can do both way. As a fighter, less talk or less fight more talk. For example, when you see him in The Mechanic, what do you see from him? Try see him in this one. Totally different right? In Safe, John played a part where he commmunicate more and fight less but shoot more! That's what i like about him in this movie. No more sweet talking, no more mr nice guy. If you point the gun, just shoot them right away. No more talk, sweet talk or bla bla bla. I watched this movie with my family and we enjoyed it very much. Too own our expactations, we didn't expect John will play a part like this in a movie. Congratulations to Boaz Yakin for turning him into something new. More brutal than ever. This i what i like about him! John Statham!! Read more
