I am very pleased with this purchase. This is a gorgeous, very well made pen. It is the right size and it has the right weight for me. And the best part is that it writes beautifully! It came with an oil based 1mm tip refill (Sailor 18-0103). I was worried that it might be difficult to find refill replacements but I found out that, in addition to the original Sailor Chalana refills, there are many options. This refill is compatible with the D1 Cross Mini refill, and there are many compatible refills by Monteverde, Zebra, Kaweco, Pilot, Uni , Jetstream and others. In my opinion these many options provide a better writing experience than other, more expensive, fancy ballpoint pens. Read more

Nice weight in hand with just a bit top heavy but very manageable. Matt black with gun metal looking trims. Has the anchor logo on the top cap. Ink cartridge is the mini style similar to the multi tip pens use. Available from many suppliers with standard D or D1 sizes. That's reason for one lost star since these cartridges only last a month or so vs the standard office/school offerings. Read more

I pretty much only use fountain pens but wanted a nice ballpoint. My main worry was weight, as I generally like my pens to be around 20g or under, but this pen is super comfy to use. My scale measured it at 27-28g, so it's heavy enough you don't have to put down a lot of pressure to write, but light enough and thick enough around the grip that it doesn't give me hand fatigue.
