Better than my GHD. I paid a lot for my GHD iron and was always a little disappointed that it didn’t perform as well as I expected from a $200 iron. I stepped on it, broke it, and bought this one. I love the long barrel! It gets hot, stays hot and gets the job done in one pass and that’s saying a lot. I have fine, thin hair that is hard to curl and when it does curl, it takes a ton of hairspray to keep it from falling out. With this iron, I spray heat protectant on my hair, curl & let them cool a bit. Then I spray Av€da texturizing tonic in my hands and scrunch through for soft, bouncy beach waves that last all day and night. Read more

This is the best curling iron I have owned. I bought my first one at TJMAXX. I ripped the rubber coating on the cord near the base and dropped iid and cracked off the top plastic piece that does not get hot, after 6 or 7 years of once a week usage. I hoped there would be one on amazon! I have long hair, half-way down my back and this Xl shaft is perfect. It makes my hair silky smooth and holds the curl well! This is my absolute favorite brand of curling iron. It has a 5 temperature settings for different hair types from fine to coarse. The longer barrel is the pièce de résistance for curling longer hair. It glides well over hair without getting stuck midway. I have purchased all three sizes and are still working perfectly after all of these years. They are priced higher than big box store prices, but well worth the investment. Read more

This is a great curling iron with a much longer barrel than most which is really nice if you have really long hair. It's smooth on my hair and heats up fast. My only complaint is the top of the barrel heats up too - the cap on the barrel is HOT. So if you grab it to rotate or steady the curling iron, your fingers are going to get burned. I'd give this product 5 stars if only it had a cool-to-the-touch cap on the barrel. Read more

I purchased this very expensive curling iron as well as the 1 1/4" version after getting new extensions. I am disappointed that after only 4 months the larger one will no longer get hot and the smaller version clamp has lost it's hold. Need to replace them both!
