I picked these up primary for use during my long runs. They have a very airy, lightweight feel to them and I find that they stretch well even during long strides. If you are a similar size to me and prefer a slightly looser or baggier feel you might want to consider the 3XL instead. I plan to use these for hiking as well during the summer as they seem perfect for that type of activity. The only thing I didn't love was how long the front drawstrings are and the fact that there wasn't much give or elasticity in the feel of the shorts overall.
