Buy it…Buy 2 even!

KierraSeptember 5, 2025

Only complaint is where has this been my whole life!? Love the asthetic and functionality of this in our new kitchen. It allowed us to move the microwave from over the stove AND the air fryer off the countertop. We placed it low, but it has a door lock option so the little kids can’t open it but the big kids know the secret 🤫 Read more

Worth buying

Works amazing didn’t come damaged like others have posted only thing I was on air fry you could select the temperatures they have pre set temps. For the oven part you can pick any temp. With the smart app also it notifies you when it’s done on your phone even on your Samsung tv it will pop up with a notification letting you know microwave is finished. Read more

Samsung microwave combination oven. Do not buy.

Diana SullivanJanuary 5, 2025

This oven is is a disaster product. The grill bars do not work, nor does the air fryer put out enough heat to cook frozen nuggets to hot. The microwave option did not get rolls hot after 2 30 second sessions. I was hoping for something to replace my counter oven since I want a proper hood in my microwave space above my range. Not happening, not even at almost $600. Disappointed to say the least! Read more

Large Turntable Size, Drop Down Door, Small Counter Width, Many Cooking Modes and WiFi Cleanliness

KentkNovember 4, 2024

Summary: Highly recommend this oven. Pros. Very high internal capacity for its external footprint. I only saw one other countertop with a turntable as large as the 15 inch (large pizza size) of this oven. This oven also has the smallest counter width of any I saw in countertop convection/microwave ovens at this power level. Drop down door making corner placement practical. Can also be placed against a wall on either side or between other counter items on both sides. Simple single knob-based UI (dial and push) accesses a dense feature set. I counted seven different cooking modes in addition of menu based auto modes. 1.6kW (1,600W) input microwave (line) input power, 1.65kW grill power, 1.6kW convection power. This is about as powerful as a countertop oven can be on a standard 15A household circuit while leaving a safety margin. This is the highest combination of power I saw in my research for a 120V countertop oven. The oven boiled 500ml of water in 4m:11s even though the oven is only rated at 900W microwave output power. That is 13% faster then our 1,000W, 1.7cuft, 240V built in microwave took at 4m:50s. The broiler element covers the entire cavity ceiling. This creates more uniform radiant heat in grill modes. Microwave window is located in the sidewall of cavity. This will tend to decrease direct path to food. More power on target. Large convection fan opening relative to cavity size. This permits higher air flow convection modes. Low microwave interference to 2.4G WiFi band. Note that this oven contains a WiFi transceiver. For the internal WiFi to work, microwave leakage has to be kept very low. Time and preferences automatically reset via WiFi after power failure, also tracks seasonal time changes. Modes: Three levels of convection air flow; Convection, Power Convection and Air Fry Grill which is apparently a rename of broil. Grill Combi, top broil (grill) element and microwave. Convection Combi, convection and microwave. Keep Warm, low temp, low air flow convection. Defrost, low power microwave. Deodorize, a variation on self clean, uses top broiler element and high air flow to burn off residue. Cons: (Not deal breakers) With the exception of large crisper pan, Accessories provided are weak. To get full functionality, consider adding. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015ZNHQS/ 14.75 inch grill is required to take full advantage of pizza and air fry capacity. Note that the capacity of this oven is so much larger than a dedicated air fryer, usable accessories are under BBQ and steamer categories. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FR4GYRN Plate grippers are needed to easily handle large items in the compact cavity which leaves little room for hands and pot holders. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09BZTBKV5 13 inch collapsible splatter cover for full size plates and dishes. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BMRG3WQ For storage side storage of grill, splatter cover and included crisper pan. Broiler element is not designed to be removed for cleaning. Oven depends on deodorize mode to burn off residue. Recommend Samsung consider making the element clip-in similar to how original electric stove elements were implemented. Styrofoam shipping inserts were pulverized by the 65 pound oven. While the oven arrived intact, the inserts largely disintegrated into tiny, electrostatically charged, spherical Styrofoam particles. The charged particles stuck to the oven, floor and furniture and were found up to two weeks later. Care should be taken during unpacking to control the issue. Recommend Samsung consider compressed fiber inserts (dense cardboard). Maximum cooking times limited to 60min. Although this can be worked around by dialing in more time part way through, this is still too short a time for low power cooking. Recommend Samsung consider allowing longer times for lower temperature/cooking scenarios. If permitted under certification and design, this tweak could be cured with a WiFi firmware update. Oven does not support multi-stage cooking without manual intervention. Recommend Samsung consider implementing rules for this appliance in Samsung's smart things (WiFi application). Example: Convention followed by broil might implement a reverse sear. Background. This oven has a very large 15 inch turn table in a small 1.2 cu foot cavity with an almost perfectly square cross section. This makes for high energy microwave cooking. The turntable diameter and cavity height determine the cooking volume of a microwave. Any cavity beyond the turntable reduces the microwave energy available to heat the food on the turntable. Since many foods are low profile (pizza, steak, frys), this oven has higher capacity for these foods than all but one countertop “all in one”. Countertop combination convection/microwave ovens typically have about 13 inch turntables (even in 1.5cuft+ sizes). A large pizza is 15inches. The food area of a turntable increases as the square of the radius (1/2 the diameter). An oven with a 15 inch turntable can cook 33% more pizza than an oven with a 13 inch turntable. The single exception I found was a $1K+ Viking which also has a 15 inch turntable but in a much larger cavity and external footprint. When microwaves reflect off an internal cavity wall, energy is lost. The more build up of food spatter on the wall, the more energy is lost in the reflection. Microwaves are absorbed passing through humid air (as in an oven). When a cavity is large, all the radiation paths to the food are longer and may involve more reflection so, the larger the cavity, the less energy is available to heat food. To reduce the chance of personal injury, Microwave leakage is carefully controlled by regulation and tested during safety certification. What is less obvious is that even tiny amounts of microwave leakage can have a negative effect on 2.4G WiFi. For historical reasons, Microwave ovens operate at 2.45GHz, which, unfortunately, is between channel 11 and 12 for 2.4G WiFi. Because the Microwave oven came before WiFi, regulations largely put the burden of “accepting” oven interference on the WiFi product. It is not hard to find stories of microwave ovens jamming entire home or even business networks. Experiencing reduced download speed and buffering when an oven is running is a more common issue. The microwave output power of this oven is 900W. A WiFi receiver typically has a sensitivity of 0.000 000 000 1W (-70dbm). Keeping a microwave oven from jamming its own internal WiFi receiver requires masterful shielding and frequency control. This is about tight mechanical fit as much as it is design. I did not see any impact on WiFi device throughput no matter how close the devices were to the oven. Samsung did a excellent job with this design and manufacturing quality. Microwave cooking power measurement if subject to a test which is itself a compromise. It turns out that one can get a good idea of relative microwave cooking effectiveness with a glass beaker and 500mL of water. Boiling water at a certain pressure and volume is a standard way of measuring energy. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LORGM28 In out home, our 2.6kW input power, Frigidaire induction cook top is the gold standard for boiling 500mL of water at 1:24. This is an all in 75% efficiency (incl electronics and SS kettle). The Samsung in this review took 4:11. A respectable 41% of the input energy went into the water. Our large GE built in microwave took 4:50 despite having an 11% higher power rating and a 3x price tag. The GE pencils out to just 36% efficiency or just a touch better than gas at 32%. So bottom line, Samsung produced a superior corner case of function, space efficiency and design with this product. It would been more obvious If Samsung’s marketing could just catch up to their engineering by emphasizing Turntable Size, Drop Down Door, counter width, cooking modes and WiFi cleanliness. I purchased this oven retail and was not compensated by any of the manufacturers discussed. The data presented here are my opinions, you should do your own research. It does it all

LukeFebruary 4, 2025

Awesome multi-function product. Build quality is excellent. Wi-Fi and Alexa support is a great feature which allows you to monitor/interface with the device from your phone without having be near it. Broil, microwave, air fry, convection oven or a combination of these operations - it does it all. A comprehensive manual is available on line so those who complain about a lack of instructions should look deeper. The manual packaged with the product is simply a quick start. Read more
