These work perfectly on bathroom tile. For some reason, they will not stick for more than a day on the granite kitchen backsplash in my apartment or the faux wood of the cabinet panels. I will try cleaning both the walls and the suction cup with various methods to try to get it to work. The ones in the bathroom have held up for over a week, and I've been able to move them and restick them without them falling off or leaving any damage. Edit: They say not to use it on granite. My bad. They work perfectly on my shiny cabinet surfaces though. The ones in my shower have occasionally fallen off after a few months, but they're so easy to put back up; it's whatever. Read more

Even though this requires no tools, I noticed one customer had a total fail with this, and I believe it was because of not following the instructions plus not having experience doing things like this. Someone who works with his hands, has failed at things and figured them out, that's the sort of person to put these up without a fail. I've copied another customer's instructions and pasted them below, but I would add this, clean the surface thoroughly, rinse it and make sure it is dry before installation. As you're putting it up and tightening it, be sure it is oriented in a level fashion. The installation in the pic is on an acrylic wall material. Anything similar, plus glazed and without a bumpy surface tile, or glass will work fine. Think out carefully the placement as I'm not sure how easy it is to remove if you get it wrong. If the sticky pad gets dirty or dusty before installation it will be ruined and you'll need a replacement which I believe is available separately. From Jack: The SANNO Vacumn Hook Suction Cups hold brilliantly. Just be sure to follow the instructions with, in my opinion, the two most important instructions. 1. Place the suction cup (all black) where you want it to be mounted and press it to the spot using your fingers and thumb. Be sure to press all parts of the cup. 2. After affixing the cover and hook to the suction cup be sure to tighten it as hard as you can. Now here is the VERY important part: after step two do NOT use the hooks right away. Wait for one hour and then re-tighten the the knob. You will be surprised at just how much tighter you can make it after that one hour wait. Finally, be sure the surface is smooth. These SANNO Suction Cup Hooks are a solid choice! I’d give them 4 out of 5 stars. They’re larger than expected, which actually worked out well for holding towels and robes. The suction is strong, and they’ve stayed securely in place in both the bathroom and kitchen. They’re also rustproof and have a sleek, modern design, which is a nice bonus. Just a heads-up—they’re not ideal for holding small, lightweight items like razors, as they tend to slip off. But for everything else, they offer great design and functionality at a good price. I was really excited to get the hooks after reading the reviews; however, I had a different experience. The shipment came with three boxes taped together, each holding a hook. I opened the first box and just tried to hang it on the wall in the bathroom. It fell to the ground onto a towel shortly after hanging it. A light coating of towel material coated the sticky side of the hook and it would not work at all after that. I was bummed. I thought I would give the second hook a try. The instructions were in the middle box, so I followed them to the letter and it appeared to have worked. You're supposed to let it "set" on the wall for a couple of hours, which I did, and then I hung a light washing pad off it. The next morning I took a shower, used the washing pad and hung it on the hook. I came home from work to find the hook on the floor of the shower. I am completely disappointed with this product. It did not work for me. From my experience, I would not recommend this product. UPDATE: After I left the above review, the seller contacted me immediately via email. The customer service rep sent instructions to follow to make sure I was following the instructions exactly. Also, they stated they would be willing to send new hooks. I tried it again, and it still did not work and I responded to the seller. I did not want more hooks, since they did not work for me. I did not hear back from them. I bought these for extra towel hanging space in the bathroom, and the suction power is impressive. As long as the surface is smooth — like tile or glass — the hooks lock on tightly and don’t slide down. I’ve hung full-size bath towels without the hook releasing. Installation takes seconds. Press and lock, and it’s done. The stainless steel finish looks clean and modern, and the hooks haven’t shown any rust or marks even with constant moisture in the bathroom. The only minor thing to note is that these won’t stick to textured walls, but that’s expected. On smooth surfaces, they’re excellent. These added simple, removable storage exactly where I needed it.
