What am I reviewing? I am reviewing SC Johnson Professional’s Heavy-Duty Hand Wipes that have a Cherry Aroma. How presented? This was packaged within a sealed warehouse like corrugated cardboard box that had limited information. Describe the package? Rectangular with a size being about 17” x 16” x 7½”. Weight of package? The package weighed in at near (17) pounds. What was inside” Inside were four (4) buckets with handles that were individually sealed – the plastic lid seal has to be broken [and disposed] in order to open the lid. Weight of each bucket? About (4) pounds and (1½) ounces. Number of wipes per bucket? (130) wipes per bucket. How are the hand wipes extracted? Through the top lid, a central hatch exists that can be opened and closed; a wipe is pulled from that hatch, after it is threaded through. Size of each sheet? About 10” x 12”. How long is the roll of sheets? I calculate there are (130’) of sheets. Are the wipes moist? Yes, I thought so, but not dripping wet. What are the wipes made from? Some sort of Polypropylene (PP) material – it’s the same kind of plastic used to make the bucket these wipes are housed in. It’s represented with a “5” on the recycling triangle. Effective hand cleaner? Yes, I thought so. Effective for cleaning what? I found these effective in cleaning off heavy grime; car grease, oil, and paint; these are marketed as also being able to clean sealants and resins. Are they only for hands? Hands and I found up to the short sleeves of my shirts. Faces? NO, only use on hands, arms at most. Skin irritant? For me, no. Do I need to wash my hands after use? As a safety precaution, I did before handling food, otherwise, no. I did not need water after using the towel. How about use on surfaces? Here, the informational pool of water starts to get murky. The listing noted they are Household Disinfectant Wipes; however, I found no corroboration on the packaging. Further, there is no reference to whether this can be used on food surfaces. Ingredients of solution that moisten the wipes? Aqua (Water), Tripropylene Glycol Methyl Ether, Dimethyl Glutarate, C9-C11 Pareth, Dipropylene Glycol Methyl Ether, Sodium Caprylyl Sulfonate, Dimethyl Adipate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Peg-75 Lanolin, Parfum (Fragrance), 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol Am I a fan of all the ingredients? No. The reader can do their own research. Size of each bucket? The bucket stands about (7”) tall, the handle adds another (4”); the diameter, at the lid, measures about (7¾”). Is the bucket sealed? Yes, underneath the lid there was a piece of plastic I used to snap off, to then open the lid. Underneath the lid, it was not sealed, which I do not care for. I think there should be an additional sheath of plastic, so as to eliminate possible evaporation of the liquid inside, once being used or stored for extensive periods of time/ Does this work? Yes, it is capable of cleaning my hands without drying. I can also note that my hands were not dried out from their use. Does this foam? No. Smooth and soft sheets? No, coarse and firm – which aids in cleaning. What should have been included? The Safety-Datasheet (SDS) should have been included with this product. Why? Because there are some general precautions, which I credit the manufacturer for noting, but again, in my opinion, the SDS should have been included or a QR code available for me to scan and go to the SDS so that I can make an intelligent decision. Is there an SDS available? Yes, the reader needs to do their own resrach. Aroma Cherry, I think it’s a tad strong, but not objectionable. Is this common hand cleaner? Hmm, not really, its delivery is through the sheets, rather than a gel or liquid. Brand? SC Johnson, a brand I have great respect for. Value? I received okay value, when considering the totality. These are a specialty item, and I did receive a large quantity, however, these are also on the expensive side. Country of origin? Unknown. The listing notes Made in China, however, there was no reference on the package and no reference on the bucket’s lid. Date of manufacture? Unknown. Date received? February 2025. Best buy date? Two (2) years after manufactured, whatever date that might be. Are these perfect? No. Rating? For me, this is a four (4) star item, at best. Although a capable cleaner, there is no corroboration that these can be used as a disinfectant wipe, as the listing suggested; I do not care for all the ingredients; and the SDS should have been included, so that I can confirm if I need to used soap and water after using and before eating. I ordered these for my workshop and car, but they really are overkill even for that; they're sort of industrial strength, in very large tubs, and while adequately moist at first I can't say whether the will hold their moisture in the bin for an extended period once it's opened ... they have a slightly oily feel, likely because they hav something like glycerine in them, which could be good for your skin but feels a little ooky ... more importantly, they smell like cherry cough syrup -- if you love that taste you're home free! but if you don't, it's over the top! they're textured as well which may be helpful to scrub off dirt but may not be as comfortable as typical wet wipes Read more
