This top is absolutely stunning in person. The details are amazing, and the actual fabric is good quality, it’s thin enough to layer like I did but not so thin that it feels cheap. This product is exactly what I was looking for. Going to my first ever renaissance fair and wanted something so that I could dress up. This is the first corset I've ever bought and it's great quality and the material is very nice. There is a convenient zipper on the side that allows for you to put it on without having to undo all the lacing. The fit is perfect and the lace allows for perfect fit to your size. Beautiful corset. My issue is it doesn’t sit under the breast area but cuts into the last 3/4 of the chest area. I had to keep pulling it down. I’ll be altering the arm straps longer so it fits my torso. Read more

I ordered this Scarlet Darkness Corset Tops for Women Renaissance Lace Up Corset Velvet Underbust Boned Bustier Bodice to wear over some of my dresses, skirts, and blouses from this same line. I’m a big fan of Scarlet Darkness; I started ordering their clothes about two years ago for costumes, and I’ve been surprised by how many of the pieces have made it into my personal wardrobe, too. I have an hourglass figure; it can be really difficult to find clothing that flatters a small waist and curvy figure, and Scarlet Darkness is one of my go-to lines. This corset is made from a blend of 95% polyester/5% elastane. The fabric is a heavy brocade type design, it’s a bit satiny, and has a little stretch, but not much. The corset is very adjustable, though, with lacing both at the front and the back. There’s also a zipper under one arm; once you adjust the front and back lacing to your perfect fit, you can use the zipper for easy on/off access. This is a costume corset; it has plastic boning, but it’s not made for bust support or to “cinch” or train the waist. But when worn over a dress or skirt and blouse, it gives a lovely corset effect that accentuates the curves of the body and showcases a small waist. I ordered a size 16 after reading the size chart. My bust measurement fluctuates between 40-41”. That put me between a size 14 and 16. The 16 fit fine, with extra room; I liked being able to adjust the lacing to my own best fit. I’m tricky to fit; I’m slim in the torso (I wear a 32 or 34 bra band) with a non standard cup size. I usually wear a M tee and a L button down, depending on the cut. I have a 28” waist, and wear a 6 in jeans and a S or M skirt. This corset is cut to hit near the waist; I liked that I could let out the lacing more near the bust and pull it in tighter close to the waistline. I found this very figure flattering; my husband liked that it showed my waist. The corset is nicely made; there’s a modesty flap behind the lacing, and it laces with wide satin ribbons. I ordered the red corset, it’s a deep, rich red color. At the current price ($28.99) this is an excellent deal for a costume corset. More than that, it comes in a wide range of sizes, and can really fit curvy girls. Don’t depend on this for support, but if you’re wearing a good bra, this corset over your dress will make the most of a curvy figure. Read more
