This is a very cute belt that I purchased to match a costume. Note that the size guide is accurate. I generally size up because I worry that something with elastic will be too tight and uncomfortable. So I bought the 2X — I have a 39 inch waist and the 2X was very loose. So I ordered the XL and it fits great. Note that I bought the purple belt and it is more of a maroon or burgundy color than a true purple. It worked fine for me because I’m wearing it with a tie-dyed shirt that has various shades. Because of how comfortable it is, I went back and also bought the XL in black and it also fits great. The belt looks very nice and is very forgiving with the elastic back. The belt does run true to size. I was only very unhappy with the smell upon opening it up. I did set it on my porch to see if the smell would go away and it did not. It was so strong I had to wash it before wearing it, which is not great. You will see in the picture there’s one area that looks may be worn/shiny …that was just due to me gently washing it. I did wash the whole belt and hang it up to air dry. Read more

Got to go with a skirt a friend sewed for me and it's very cute. The material is kind of cheapy, but that's pretty par for the course with Scarlet Darkness, and it's not like it's an expensive item. I'd recommend sizing down, as there's only one set of snaps, so you can adjust it, and it's quite stretchy. Read more

Very cute and comfortable. I typically wear a medium in shirts so I got a medium. It was comfortable and not tight, which worked fine for me, but if you are looking for more of a corset effect you might consider sizing down. Read more
