Don't hesitate on this one. The material has a little give so it hugs the body and still holds you in place. The fabric is rich and I ordered more colors. The fit is true to size, but the slight stretch makes it move with you, unlike a corset made of a woven fabric. The purple and green are deep and luscious. Adding to my review above--I realized that the purple I have is a size 8. It works okay because the material has a nice bit of stretch. Today my cerulean in size 10 arrived and I like the fit better. I'm built like an inverted pear-- 36C and size 10/12 on top, 8/10 waist with a skinny little hiney and legs, and a 4/6 hip. The cerulean blue is what we used to call "teal" or "dark cyan." It's also called "ultramarine" in your paint box. I didn't have cerulean in my crayon box, but I decided to risk it. This is a luscious color. I plan to pair it with black, purple, wine red, rust and dark orange. It will look great with most browns--really almost any shade of red. I've got to say this was more beautiful than I expected, and works with more of my skirts and dresses than I thought it might. And of course, jeans! They always ask about zipper quality. I love the zipper feature in Scarlet Darkness corsets. As a sewer, they seem of good quality to me. I've encountered no difficulties and it makes putting these corsets on, over other layers of clothing, much easier to do! Another edit: My "golden brown" arrived today. It's less golden than I expected and will match my medium brown, rust, orange and plaid Scarlet Darkness skirts to perfection. I am more than happy with this color. It's soft and subtle like deerskin. Oh yikes! I got my "wine" corset today. If I ordered a glass of red wine and it was this color I might suspect foul play. But in this case I'm delighted. This is a straight up, true red. It's a deep shade, but the photos are much darker than the reality. The bodice is so cute and comfy! It looks great on fuller figures and supports large chests with ease. The fabric is great, very soft and the color match on the zipper is impressive. I have two minor knit picks, I wish the corset had a stiffer lining to help it keep it's shape, and that it had boning on either side of the zipper as it wants to fold. But! Fit excellently, held up nicely. The zipper is on the side, and it is a bit annoying to get into, but it's really pretty and the material does stretch. It doesn't feel like cheap costume wear at all either! If you're looking for a corset, I would definitely recommend this one out of all of the ones I bought due to the comfort alone. Its very cute and well-made. I have very few truly native things to say about this, but I do have some things to keep in mind for people with non-standard proportions like myself. But I will start with good, because overall it is a great piece of clothing. The fabric is sturdy, a little stretchy but not overly so, and comfortable. It's all finished and the grommets are all smooth, you won't have to worry about it scratching you or catching your clothing. The ribbons are nice and don't really fray even if you cut them. I'm very happy with the quality. Onto some things to note: I'm 5'7", with a small back and large breasts. My main concern was finding a bodice that was adjustable enough to fit both my 34" back and my G-cup tits without any extra support. I was recommended a 10, bought and 8, and then had to size down to a 6. The 8 laced up completely the whole way, even at my boobs. The 6 barely fit them. The backing fabric is quite short. I was worried it wasn't going to cover me since the size disparity between the two is pretty wide. However, the 6 did fit and my boobs were safe. There is no boning at the zipper, so the fabric there with push out weirdly, and while there is a piece of fabric backing the zipper, there's nothing at the bottom so it can be quite irritating if you aren't wearing an undershirt. I found it to be tolerable tho, it didn't scratch me or leave a mark, it was just a bit annoying. The zipper itself isn't that useful. Idk why, maybe because my clavicle area is so short, maybe my boobs got in the way, but it was useless for getting it on since I had to use both hands to zip up. However, it provides very easy escape which is honestly super nice. The texture of the velvet was super nice. The color was still pretty matte, it wasn't super shiny or low-quality looking. It's not spirit Halloween costume material. The inside isn't lined, reasonably enough, so it's a little bit itchy. But again, I didn't really notice it after wearing it for a bit. It's also pretty breathable, I didn't get super sweaty in it even though it was like 70 degrees where I was. The true test will be in a few weeks as I walk around renfaire in it, but we will see. Overall, especially for 35$, it a really good corset. I'm super happy with it, me quite a few people who looked really happy with theirs too. I'll definitely buy more from this seller in the future. The only reason I'm taking the score off is because the sizing is a little weird (the 8 was way too big, the 6 barely fit) and because there isn't any boning at the zipper which I looks way off. I needed a corset last minute for a ren faire im attending and as a size 24, I took a chance on it thinking I would have had to end up returning it, but I will not be sending it back! I did have to unlace and replace myself into it, but I fits so well, I am still able to breathe very well and it’s so comfortable and soft! Although the price is cheap, the garment is very well made.
