Easily the best option for high quality, fast, and painless shave! ***updated.. I’ve used these for 2 years now and have never EVER had one rust. I even keep old ones for shaving my neck line after a hair cut and there like 2-3 months old... not a spec of rust still plenty sharp to shave. I have honestly never have one pull I just change them after approx a month as there is a diff from a new one but it is far from dull! The blades have gaurds which seems to be unique as no other big brands do. These gaurds are the answer!!! The blades seriously stay sharp for over a month. I shave every single day! The gaurds prevent any irritation! I seriously can race shave like carelessly fast like a 20 second shave. No nicks or cuts!!! A very close shave even with the gaurds. *** I recently tried Gillette’s new proshield and wow... dull in 10 shaves. I went back to my old used hydro 5 with over 25 shaves on it and it was still very sharp!!! No pulling yet the proshield was seriously painful. Not to mention when it was sharp I would get bloody on occasion something I forgot was normal with those. In turn u get a very minuscule closer shave. Like one extra hour of shave gap so yea... the trade off is a no brainer. I like the close shave a razor provides so I don’t use electric. I don’t like razor burn and dry irritated skin especially in winter that blades can cause. Well this is the answer!!! Seriously awesome blades. Dollar shave club what a sham. These razors are 10 times better and they last a month at about $3 per. That is about $36 a year to shave with the best there is! I don’t think you can beat that!!! Read more
I Use these to shave my legs and bikini line and these are the BEST razors I have ever used. I have always preferred another popular brand, but decided to switch because I was tired of so many nicks and cuts. I tolerated years of nicks and cuts because I thought the other brand was the best and Schick was the cheap one. However, I decided to try these because they were on sale. I will never use another brand again. I have zero nick and cuts, with these razors! The shave is also close and smooth. I can typically get about 7 shaves before they dull and need to be changed. After having used 3-blade disposable shavers for years, I decided to see if the 5-blade units were any better. I don't shave very often, so the expense of a handle/cartridge set isn't really worth it for me. The last 3-blade disposable I used was Gillette Sensor3 Smooth Shave Disposable Razor 8 Count and they were OK, but didn't give the closest shave - I'd have to go over the same area several times to get a truly smooth shave. So I decided to pit the two 5-blade disposables against each other... the Gillette Fusion Men's Disposable Razors 2 Count and these Schick Hydro 5 Disposables which come in a 3-pack. My neighbor had given the Schick a strong thumbs-up after he tried it last year, saying it was the best shave he's ever had with a blade razor. Once I received both from Amazon, I gave them a side-by-side test... literally. Shaved one side of my face with the Gillette, the other with the Schick. I've used Sensitive Skin Shave Gel Edge For Men 7 Ounce Soothing Aloe Preventing Nicks Cuts Irritation for 20 years, so that was the "cream" of choice for the test. Both razors did a better job than the 3-blade Sensor3, with very little need for additional passes over the same area. But while both did the job, the Schick felt better in the hand, and was a little bit smoother. Not really enough to make a firm decision one way or another, so I then had to go with value. Schick gives you a 3-pack for the price of Gillette's 2-pack and that swayed the pendulum. I'll finish off the two Gillette Fusion razors, then I'll use the Schick Hydro 5s and buy a few more packs for the bathroom cabinet. Obviously the type and length of facial hair you have will make a big difference, but I like the 5-blade shave better than the 3, I like the Schick a little better than the Gillette, and I like the Schick's price a lot better. Schick is the only brand i use now days. After trying many many different brands, I finally decided to stick to Schick Brand. Reason being, in my opinion, Schick razors are the only ones that shave perfectly without the rough pulling of hair that sometimes happens. I hated that. When I started using these, I was surprised that its just as good as the non-disposable razors. From my own testing of men's razors.....Schicks are the BEST by far. The next would be the walmart version of razors, equate. They are almost as good as Schick brand razors. Read more
I got one of these as a sample several years ago and loved it! You can hardly feel it as it shaves the hair ! They last a really long time too! They are expensive compared to the other disposable ones, but I end up using them way longer, so they end up being cheaper in the long run. I never get nicks or cuts or a rash like I do from other ones either. Well worth the money! Read more
Probably the best razors I've tried. I've used several different electric shavers, straight razors, DE's, Gillette Fusion, and various disposables. The Schick's gave me the smoothest and easiest shave out of everything. The design of this razor helps prevent skin pinches and cuts and has moisturizers built in I believe. I keep mine lasting extra long by dipping these in rubbing alcohol before storing them in a drawer. Helps disinfect and dry them (this does destroy the moisturizer part a bit, but doesn't bother me). I'm still using the first one after months and still works pretty well. Cheaper than Gillette too! I'm Schick fan now. Read more
