Scooter for Big and Tall People - Heavy Duty Electric Scooter for Adults 300lbs - Inmotion S1F -

TL:DR - This is the best scooter you can buy for under $1K. Supremely comfortable ride, very powerful motor, the quickest acceleration I've experienced on a single-motor scooter, and feels rock solid on bumpy roads. I was a bit apprehensive about buying a scooter from InMotion as they're known more for their electric unicycles, but I can say with confidence that they've absolutely knocked it out of the park. I've ridden Segway's Ninebot Max, G30, and E45 extensively and I can guarantee that this scooter is better than any of those by a mile. You immediately feel the power of the scooter when you ride it. The 1000W peak definitely makes a difference as compared to the 700-750W motors on other scooters in this class. It handles uphill climbs with ease and the acceleration is extremely snappy in the Sport (S) mode. Beginner and novice riders will definitely have to start off on the regular Drive (D) mode and take some time to get used to the power in the S mode. The headlights on this scooter are infinitely better than Segway and Gotrax scooters. The beam has a very wide spread and lights up the road and areas around the path well. The under-deck lighting isn't a gimmick at all, it helps a lot with visibility at night, which is crucial when you're riding a scooter on the road with other vehicles. I don't use the turn signal feature that much as it is very sensitive, and flashing red and blue lights might invite an unnecessary police stop lol. The suspension is a lifesaver. You need it, and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Once you ride a scooter with suspension, you'll never want to go back to riding fixed-wheel scooters. Braking is super sharp to the extent that it can get scary at times. The scooter drops speed as quickly as it accelerates, but the rear is prone to locking up, so you can very easily get a few slides if you aren't careful. This scooter isn't made for kids, you have to be responsible and aware at all times that you are riding something that can go from a standstill to its top speed and vice versa before you could spell the word InMotion. I highly recommend this scooter, but please be aware that it is a whole lot quicker than the Ninebot and Gotrax scooters. Ride responsibly and you'll have a great time. Read more

I'm reviewing the scooter I ended up buying through the actual Inmotion website, not the used and broken one I was sent after going through Amazon that had over 33 miles on the clock already. The speed is downright scary when you go into the app and unlock the 25kph speed barrier. It's a lot of fun to ride. I'm just a bit over 300lbs and this scooter has no problems moving me around. Quality of the scooter seems alright. Feels very solid. No weird noises or rattles. I did tighten the axle nuts before my first ride just to be sure. Again, this is for the one I bought outside of here, not the used and broken one with 33 miles on it I received through the reseller on here. I haven't gone through a whole battery to see how far it'll get me, but I took it out for about a 4 mile ride after the first time I charged it, and I used about 10% of the battery capacity in those 4 miles. Again, this is with 300lb me on it, so I expect to realistically see about 35-40 miles on a full battery vs the claimed 59 miles of range. So yeah, battery life seems adequate. Regarding receiving a broken item, after contacting Inmotion through their actual sales page (not this one here) I found out that this "Inmotion Direct" seller on Amazon is indeed affiliated with Inmotion the company. I was disappointed in the fact that I was sent a used and broken scooter through this Amazon seller. Keep this in mind when you order through here. If you don't receive a brand new scooter with all the plastic shrink wrapping on it, don't accept that. I'm thoroughly disappointed that these deceptive practices are allowed on here. Read more

Other than the weight this scooter is fantastic. I am 6’2” and weigh 260 pounds. The loss of speed is minor (about 2mph) when pulling a grade like a pedestrian overpass. I use it with a commuter train and have had no problems other than it being too big to be between my legs while seated. The headlight illuminates the road well. The lighting effects and turn signals are a great visibility feature. The top speed with my weight is about 18 mph and the range appears to be closer to 40ish mile (likely due to my weight). Still that is more than adequate considering how quickly a single charger will bring it up. The suspension does a good job of rolling over pavement imperfections and manhole covers as well as getting up driveway lips. Also worth mentioning; I have size 13 (u.s.) feet and the footbed feels roomy. The app has some nice features like being able to toggle on/off features like light effects, cruise control, start from a dead stop, downhill assist, and so on. It also gives you total milage, trip milage and time and allows you to lock out the electronics. That last feature makes it impossible to turn on and very difficult to roll away (which when coupled with its weight is a real deterrent for scrawny thieves).
