It does well at what it’s supposed to do - namely hold and charge the phone. The magnet is not as strong as other docks I’ve used but it seems strong enough to hold tight even over speed bumps. It’s nice that it comes with a way to mount it on both a flat surface and a vent. I also like how it’s 25W so it theoretically charge faster than most, but I haven’t tested that. I’ve found that the mounting strips like the one here may not last forever, but no way to know that yet. Since they’re asking a higher price point, there are a couple of things that keep it from being a 5 Star: --The first is the angle of the arm. It’s fine if you’re mounting it on a surface that’s already facing you, but that wasn’t an option for me, I had to mount it more facing the passenger side, so it never really faces me. The closest I can get is facing straight back, and that also requires the wire sticking out of the side towards me, which bugs me for aesthetic reason. --The second thing is that the USB-C cord is attached to the unit, so if anything ever happens to the wire I have to replace the whole unit. It also means I can’t use a USB-C to USB-A cable and plug it into the multiport lighter adaptor I already have --Minor thing, but again at this price point, it would be nice to have a lighter adaptor that had 2 ports and was lower profile. I love Scosche products, as Ive been previously using the magnetic car mount for years and multiple phone cases over the years. I was ecstatic to see the Magsafe car mount uses the same adhesive base mount, so with a quick unscrew of the ball joint, I was able to put on the Magsafe charger super easily. For a new installation, the provided double stick adhesive is plenty strong and will not deteriorate over time, which I can attest to. The magnet is super strong on my rather heavy and large Samsung Z Fold 5, which held the phone without issues both vertically and horizontally. Charging is insant and is recognized as "fast charging" with Samsung, so it charges at a quick pace versus normal slow charging The charging cable is a good length with an included 12v cigarette/accessory charging plug and the end of the cable is USB-C. The package also includes a small self adhesive cable clip to secure it so its not loose and in the way of the HVAC controls on the dash. Nice touch! I already had a standard magnetic mount in my car, but I decided to give this Scosche model a shot because I wanted the convenience of wireless charging. My experience started off a little rocky because the unit came with the dashboard mount pre-installed, and it was challenging to remove. It actually took me a few tries over a couple of days to finally get enough leverage to pop it off and swap it for the vent clip. Once I finally got it switched over, the vent mount itself installed easily and fit very snugly to the vent of my car, which is a plus compared to others I have used. The performance is a mix of pros and cons. The magnet strength isn't quite as aggressive as my previous mount. In a way, it's good because I can grab my phone without feeling like I am going to rip the vent louvers out of the dashboard. However, that weaker hold was an issue on my first day using it. I hit a large pothole and the phone fell right off the mount. The charging capabilities are excellent. It charges fast and, unlike other chargers I have tried, my phone didn't feel hot after a 20-minute drive. The build quality is also good and it feels very premium and sturdy. Overall, it is a premium, versatile mount that keeps my phone powered up, but for the price, I really wish the magnets were just a little stronger for better security on bumpy roads. Read more

This is a Scosche. What more can you say. They are like the Mercedes of car mounts. I first bought one of their Magic mounts like 10 years ago. The thing was built like a tank. This company were one of the first to make EXTREMELY strong magnetic mounts. They are a little pricey but they are totally worth it. AESTHETICS I've always liked how their products look. They look classy in real life. Not too many letterings and logos. A very simple design, which you want in a car mount. There is a good reason that they've been around for so long and still been able to charge ridiculous prices—their stuff looks good. DURABILITY Like previous models, this is no different. Made like a tank. FUNTIONABILITY Great magnet strength. EXTREMELY strong. No joke. FINAL PRICE RECOMMENDATION The only criticism I have with these is the price. Yes, I know they are the top of the line but $50 is still a lot of money for a mount. I wish they would lower their prices. That way I could buy more of their stuff. 😃 Read more

There are cheaper versions but this one is from scosche a known high quality brand in automotive chargers etc. High quality 3m adhesive, alcohol cleaning wipes, and everything else you need for an easy installation. The magnet is very strong and if you have a magsafe device you should have no issue with it staying firmly attached. I have a pixel 8a I added magsafe to and it stays in place even when you hit a good bump stop hard etc. The ball mount and the tightening ring work well once you've set a position and locked it isn't. Moving. I have not tried the vent mount. Bottom line this is a very sturdy well made wireless charging system. The only thing I don't like is the hardwired cable. This design is probably more durable in the long run but id prefer to be able to use my own cable. The power adapter/cigarette lighter adapter is pretty basic.
