Customers say
Customers give positive feedback about the car phone holder's quality and phone-holding capability, with one customer noting it held their phone through a rollover crash.

I've had a variety of phone holders over time, with and without wireless charging. Most recently before this one I bought the motorized Scosche "Magic Grip" holder with the AMPS base for both my own and my partner's vehicles, and I've mostly really liked them, aside from a few weird quirks (no release button? I have to literally rip the phone out of the holder to get it to let go?). When one of the rubber "finger" pads recently detached from my partner's Magic Grip and could not be found (rendering the entire device unusable), I decided to get her a new one. Along the way I ran into this product and seeing that it's 15 watts instead of ten, I decided to give it a try, expecting overall a similar experience in spite of the different appearance. What I actually received was an enormous disappointment. Unlike the motorized grip action of the other product, this one requires you to set the phone in the holder, release it if you're only using one hand (hopefully it will sit on the bottom bracket without falling forward) and manually squeeze the sides together. I've had much cheaper holders that do this better -- with a button that the phone presses that activates the side clamps, etc. But overall this isn't a dealbreaker. Releasing the phone from the holder requires you to reach around and touch a button on the back side, which may be awkward depending on where the holder is mounted. The cord doesn't use a standard USB connector at the plug end like the old product, so you have no choice to use a multi-port USB power source; you have to use their plug with this thing. Still not a dealbreaker. For me, the reason this one is going back is because it doesn't work as a charger. I spent a good 40 minutes trying to get it to work and ultimately it just doesn't. It flashes red (user guide says this means "foreign object detected") when I put my phone in the cradle, and the phone sees no connection or incoming power. I found that if I move the bottom bracket all the way down, I can sometimes get the device to flash blue and the phone will show that charging has started, but only for a couple seconds. Even without touching it (zero movement) it invariably starts flashing red again, and the phone stops charging. I get the impression that this device is made for smaller phones than mine, and mine is not particularly large. The old Magic Grip has no trouble charging my phone. I'm glad I tested this before giving it to my partner. Read more
Good little holder and charger. Only issue is occasionally have to place phone in holder several times to get the charger to work. Sometimes it has the flashing red lights which indicate it's in holder properly but not charging... even though the iPhone's battery needs charging. Read more

Bought to keep my new Pixel 2 (not XL) Google Fi phone charged while driving. Does this job well, even with this non-Qi enabled phone. Bought a charging coil and placed it under not-so-slim phone case. Battery keeps charging despite running simultaneously Bluetooth audio and Waze navigation (the latter being a known power hog). Having used several non-wireless car phone holders attaching either to the dash or to the windshield, I have found that the most steady mounting is achieved when in addition to the standard suction cup attachment, the holder itself rests on the dashboard. Unfortunately this model has an extendable support on the bottom, designed to optimize vertical position of the phone in respect to the inner holder coil. It serves its function, but freely slides in when pushed, making it impossible to make the holder rest on a dash. As a result the modern heavy phone ends up suspended on a long bendable leg. This leg, while being pretty stiff and requiring quite some force to bend into the desired shape, does nevertheless vibrate quite a bit on every bump. I am disappointed by such an inconsistent engineering quality. Read more
With all the variety of phones it's hard to make a one size fits all products. The SCOSCHE WDQM STUCKUP Qi does what I need it to, however with the Galaxy S9 the fingerprint scanner is on the back of the phone. With the height adjustment all the way up I can reach the sensor but the battery wont charge. The height adjustment has to be all the way down to charge but I'm forced to enter my backup password to unlock the device, not ideal while driving. I know there are other ways to unlock the phone, retinal and facial recognition, but I'm a creature of habit and like things my way. Lol. Great product all in all. Phone has never come out unexpectedly. If you used a magnetic mount in the past make sure you remove the iron plate on the back of your device or it will not charge. Also have not had any issues with the mount moving around. This is mounted on the left side of the windshield in my pick-up. Have also tested its durability in off highway applications and out performed my expectations. Edit Unit failed. The wand began to rotate on the base and then today separated from the base. This product is wonderful. I really enjoyed it while it lasted. I owned this from April 16, 2018 until February 27, 2019. I was in a car accident that rolled my car on February 27th and it destroyed the phone stand. The phone stand worked amazing and kept my phone where I knew where it was at at the end of the crash. I would 1000% recommended buying this and would buy another one if I were able to afford it. The wireless charging worked great with my iPhone XS Max. It charged quickly even while using my phone to stream music to my car. Thank you Scosche for making such a quality product. Read more
Not as advertised. Does not fast charge with Samsung like it say. Actually says it's not compatible. The lower arm doesn't drop low enough to charge my phone, I have to push down for it to charge and hold it. This product is not worth the money in any way. I have an older one from this company but the suction cup arm broke. That one I would recommend but not sure if you can get it this new version is garbage. Don't buy. Read more
