This nightlight is absolutely adorable! It’s made of soft, squishy silicone that feels great to touch and is sure to make you smile every time you see it. I’m not 100% sure it looks exactly like a sea otter, but whatever it is—it’s very cute. The light is turned on and off (and dimmed or brightened) by tapping the top of its head, which works really smoothly. There’s also a small switch on the bottom that lets you set a 30-minute timer. The “bubble blowing” feature is unique and much cuter than I expected. It doesn’t blow real soap bubbles or anything like that (I wasn’t sure because the product description doesn’t have a lot of information)—instead, there’s a little built-in plastic bubble at its mouth that expands when you squeeze the sides of its head. When inactive, the bubble is small, but always there (smaller than a dime), but when you squeeze it, it grows to larger than the size of a ping-pong ball. It’s an adorable effect—almost like the otter is blowing a bubblegum bubble! The bubble material is slightly sticky, but not unpleasant, and adds to the toy’s charm. It can be a little hard to squeeze just right, so younger kids might need help, but overall it’s a fun touch. My only wish is that the light also changed colors, but not all of these types of silicone nightlights do. Given how prices for these lights have gone up lately, I think this one is reasonably priced—especially since it’s more unique than most.
