I love that it’s portable! I also love that it is USB-C! If you do not have a newer computer that has this port then I wouldn’t recommend. It’s super easy to get started and easy to use! This thing is absolutely amazing! first off its small and takes up little to no space. Its super easy to set up I got this because my pc is older and doesn't have a lot of space. I'm an artist and gamer and these games keep getting bigger and bigger so i was swapping between a limit of 2-3 games being installed on my computer. since i got this drive, ive moved my games to it and i have about 36 different games installed, including Ark and i still have space left over! definitely worth getting if your having space issues Read more

Easy plug-and-play for Windows 10 compatibility, and with a little searching one can find online how to fully operate this device. I'm a fairly technical person who has typically deleted all the onboard features, but I decided to try the hardware encryption, and I like it. It was easy to setup a device password, and I even tested "forgot password" before migrating data to this device. If I plug it into my desktop USB, then it's trusted (no password needed). Any other device requires a password to see the content. I was also able to assign a fixed drive letter so that the unlocked drive on my desktop is always L: I now have four Seagate drives, two that are at least 10 years old, and all still work. I compared several 1TB drives, and the cost per GB with my trust in Seagate quality gave me confidence that I was doing the right thing. At this point, I don't know why I'd buy a non-encrypted external drive. Read more

I am furious. I chose this product because of the recognizable brand name and the fact that it would automatically back up. I was attempting to use this on an at home, HP laptop. Well, set up was easy enough. Able to download and access the "Toolkit" program software. Started my first back up. The status window 1st said 8 hours to back up, hmmm, then I kept checking and the status would change then to 24 hrs, 32 hrs to finally 35 hrs to back up. That's weird. I felt the device with my hand. It was HOT to the touch after having been attempting to work for about an hour. I aborted the back up, re-read other customer reviews. No way was I going to leave a HOT device plugged in for almost 2 days. What a complete and utter disappointment. Absolutely ridiculous that in 2023 you can't buy a quick, easy and reliable automatic back up device without all this effort. Now gotta' pack it up, bring it to the return shipping center and THEN shop for another back up because, gosh I REALLY need a back up device. What a waste of time and effort. Read more
