Seagate ST4000NM0033 Constellation 4 TB

mbwAugust 2, 2021

I bought 5 of these drives from AnyHDD on April 13, 2021. All but 1 of the drives are working problem free. One drive failed last week. I replaced the failed drive with another HDD of the same specification. The new drive came from a different vendor. I discussed the problem with Amazon support and they sent me a return label saying they would issue a refund for the failed HDD. I am very pleased with the whole transaction. The initial delivery was quick and the response to the problem was handled quickly and efficiently. Amazon stood behind the 3 year warranty and at $57.99 when I purchased these 5 drives the price was excellent. I recommend these drives. Read more

Perfect, I bought four

JeffJuly 28, 2024

I bought four of these for a NAS, configured them as RAID5 so there's no problem if one of them fails, but so far everything has been perfect. I'm really impressed with these drives, and for $60 each it's just an unbeatable deal. How long will they last? Well, that's the real question. But I'm willing to bet they'll last more than long enough for them to be worth the price. Read more

good value and working as expected

HealthBuffJune 6, 2021

I bought this drive to replace a 1TB 7200 seagate Barracuda in a Dell Vostro 3470 desktop machine after trying several Seagate 5400 drives which did not work because they were slowing down my computer. I got the original Seagate Constellation drive (not Dell or other brand) which looked like brand new. First I extensively tested the drive with I cloned the original drive with AOEMI backupper which worked great HD Sentinel for 8 hours straight and got no errors whatsoever. The drive got rally hot during testing. Then I cloned the original drive with AOEMI backupper which worked great and booted from it without any issues. The only complaint I have is that the drive is really noisy but I guess all 7200 drive have some level of noise so I just have to live with it. I am monitoring the drive's health with HD Sentinel just so I know when it starts to fail so I can take action but I have a backup of the drive image ready just in case (with AOEMI backupper). I will update my review going forward to show how long the drive will last in 100% healthy status. So far as long as you get the Seagate Constellation original brand as long as you fully test it before you install it - I recommend this drive. But only time will tell. Always have a frequent backup of the entire drive image just in case the drive fails. Read more

NO negatives with this Seagate ST4000NM0033 Constellation HDD. It's easy to install, format and runs smoothly and silently. I've been building/upgrading computers for 40 years, and have always been well satisfied by the Seagate brand HDD's. STRONGLY recommend the Seagate ST4000NM0033 Constellation and this vendor, for anyone in need of a new HDD! Read more

Not bad considering the price

Michael MoyeJanuary 25, 2024

Despite the expected high power on hour count I will say I am shocked it still passes the basic SMART health checks using GSmartControl, though I do intend to give it a full check over using more specialized tools just to ensure it will last for as long as possible for the application I intend to use it in, definitely well worth the price should it clear all tests I have lined up for it Read more

depends on luck

Victor H.May 6, 2024

I received the package recently since there were delay problems in delivery and it took up to three weeks Well, it is a hard drive that looks in good condition, but when i examine it with Crystal Disk i realize that it has been used for several years, and has reassigned sectors as seen in the image. Another thing I noticed is that sometimes it sounds like small knocks when it is reading/writing so it is possible that it has physical damage, well it doesn't matter anymore, with so many delays and readjustments that were made to the shipment I don't have the desire to complain and return it so I will simply keep it and see how many months my hard drive lasts Read more
