Beautiful and functional -- you'll want TWO

This coat is fabulous! After 1.5 years of owning it, it has -- hands down -- been my favorite go-to trench. I am 5'5" and the length is perfect. The fit is flattering (I get regular compliments on the way it fits) and covers the booty, allowing the belt to taper the waist. The stitching and buttons have held up to plenty of wear, and it is a terrific balance of warmth and protection. I've worn it on rainy days and breezy days, and it has protected me in both conditions. It layers very well over sweaters, blouses, t-shirts, and anything else I've paired it with. The color hasn't faded at all, although I haven't washed it much (maybe twice?). I liked my black one so much that I waited for the beige one to go on sale, and when it finally did, I snagged it. So now I have two which I alternate quite a bit. Read more

A beautiful classic

This jacket is well made, comfortable (even if you have broader shoulders like I do), fits beautifully & keeps you dry. I bought it in the Navy and the color is rich. Well worth the price! Read more

Awesome Trench!

Love this trench! I live in Florida so won't get a whole lot of use out of it but it's been perfect for this winter. I've worn it much more than I ever expected. It's warm, has a nice big hood (I hate carrying umbrellas) and fits perfectly. I got a Small (I'm 5'5, 120 lbs.) and like a little extra room which I have with this jacket. Whilst I don't wear particularly thick clothing I've got plenty of room if I need to layer up. My young adult sons both have The North Face Apex Bionic Hoodie jackets, this trench reminds me of their jackets (soft shell, water resistant, with a cozy interior), but at a fraction of the price. Amazing coat!

Beautiful coat, well made, fabric is great...lightweight but has a thing flannel-like lining, perfect for a chilly day. I'm 5'9", 138 lbs, usually a size 4 or 6. Amazingly enough, the sleeves are long enough, perfect in fact. A wee bit tight in the shoulders, but only if I'm really stretching, but forget about wearing anything heavier than a just a shirt. Only downside, and it's a big one for me, is that the belt sits way to high, 2-3" above my waist. That may be the style of it, but feels awkward to me as I'm long waisted. If only it was as easy as cutting tiny strings off but the belt loops are thick and sewn in well to the coat. Considering a larger size but it's such a great fit right now, worried the belt placement won't change much. So bummed...but it's more based on my long-waistedness than the coat...its really a steal at this price! Read more

Great Jacket

This jacket is excellent. On breezy days this helps keep you warm on rainy days. It repels very nicely the water a good shake and it’s dry again. I love the option of the hood could be removed. The buttons are stitched well and our stylish as well. Overall, I am impressed by the softness, the quality I purchased a simple black, but I am contemplating on ordering another color. I think this is a great spring or fall jacket that can be dressed up by removing the hood or dress down keeping the hood or using the hood on those windy or rainy days. I normally wear a size small and this small fits just fine with a little extra room. Read more

Loved it!

I ordered this for a recent trip to Scotland where you need to be prepared for rain at any time lol. I had a Gore-Tex jacket from The North Face for hiking or being out when we already knew it was pouring (luckily this scenario never popped up) but wanted something less athletic looking for strolling about “just in case”. This fit the bill perfectly. The stretchy side panel makes it so comfy, and it’s SO flattering. I absolutely the color, and the material is really nice. It looks a lot more expensive than it is. Also the hood is good, it’s not too small and not foolishly huge like some. I did get caught in the rain in Glasgow while wearing it and never felt wet (we were walking in the light rain for about 2 hours with no umbrellas). I wore this most days I was there and my one complaint would just be that it’s not very breathable. I do run hot though (I’m either freezing or sweating, no in between!) and was walking in it A LOT. Casual wear without any physical exertion likely wouldn’t cause any breathability issues! It’s wrinkled in my photo because I kept having to STUFF it into my suitcase or it would be rolled up in a ball in the backseat of the rental car. Also note: I’m about 5’3” with shortish arms and the sleeves were just right (I have a large…I’m about 165lbs but most of that is in my hips/butt. I am most often a Medium in tops but sometimes a large, bust measuring about 39). Oh and the pockets are good!! I fit quite a bit in them without making myself look like a pack mule lol. Read more

Nice, But Needs Some Tweaks.

I was hopeful this coat would be good for a warm yet more polished travel look, but sadly, it didn’t work out for me. I am usually a solid size medium in most things, but this coat runs rather small, especially if I wanted to wear a light knit sweater underneath. I could have used a large in this. Besides the sizing issue, which is easily remedied, the belt design was off. I like the option of wearing my coats open with the belt tied in the back, but this coat doesn’t allow that. There are only belt loops on the front of the coat and one on the back. This coat also needs belt loops on the side seams to be able to knot in the back. Even two simple skinny loops would do. I considered even making my own belt loops, but the belt itself was also a problem. It is made out of the same puffy material as the coat, which matches the coat, but it’s too big and puffy to be able to tie it in a nice knot. For those who don’t want to tie the belt in the back I think this coat would work well for them. I would just go all out on the belt at that point and add a nice trench style belt buckle and forget about trying to tie that puffy belt at all. I would also add another top button and buttonhole so the coat can be totally buttoned up in cold or wet weather, as most other trench coats can. No extra buttons are provided. The stone color was really nice, the cut was flattering, and the fabric seemed like it would be warm. A longer length option would also be helpful, to look nice over travel dresses, and be even more versatile. Read more
