This vacuum really picks up well. I have a Siberian Husky, a Mountain Cur with wiry hair and 3 cats. I need to vacuum every day and have been through many different vacuum cleaners in the past 5 years. We tried a Miele C1 with a turbo head but it didn’t live up to the hype. The vacuum it is replacing is a Kenmore intuition which worked well but broke down constantly. So far the Sebo has outperformed anything. I’ve never seen my rugs so clean. It works a treat on hardwood too. It senses the hardwood and automatically turns off the brush roller. The one thing that could be better is the wand. There isn’t really a wand, only a flexible tube which can make it difficult to get behind some furniture without getting on your hands and knees. You can buy a wand for it so I will probably do that in the future. This is hands down the best vacuum I have ever used. Read more

I have four cats, two are long-haired. I have carpeting and I live in a dusty place in the world. I have gone through a number of vacuum cleaners over 30 plus years of managing a household, to include a series of Sharks that lasted 2-3 years on average before shorting out, burning out, or malfunctioning in another way. I tend to vacuum every other day to keep the particles at bay, to help out the asthmatics of the household (including myself), and I admit I am demanding of these machines. I've owned Hoover, Bissell, Kenmore, aforementioned Shark, and Miele, and so far this vacuum is my favorite. It only has two attachments (a wand and upholstery brush), but how many do you need? What I like is that it is intuitively designed with nothing superfluous, stores easily as an upright, and stars a powerful engine reflecting superior German engineering. It has a closed system and uses bags, so does not spew dust particles back out onto the air like the bagless Sharks. For the same cost range it surpasses the Miele, which for all the hype and BIFL claims, just like the Sharks, stopped swimming one day and died. I bought this for the carpets exclusively and still have one last Shark on hand for hard floors. Very pleased. Read more

This is a high quality, well-made vacuum. Suction is great. Leaves medium-height carpet looking perfect. The height adjustment works nicely and doesn't feel cheap like other vacs I've had. Couple small things: the bags aren't very thick, compared to the Miele bags I was used to. And there's no HEPA filtration, so dust is likely getting into the air to a certain degree more than it should for my liking. Closing the canister lid after inserting the vacuum bag is difficult. On my unit you really have to push down quite hard to get it to click-lock into place. There's barely any play in it, so I wonder if at some point I won't be able to click it shut. Lots of rubbery, chemical smells when I first started up the vacuum, which I hope will dissipate over time when it's done off-gassing. The power cord is quite thin, but it seems decent quality. I had a Hoover Hushtone before this, tried it once, and then sent it back. This Sebo Dart is in a different league. However, the Hushtone had great HEPA filtration. This Dart needs better quality bags, and a HEPA filter, and I'd give it 5 stars for $499. I just ordered 8 Felix bags, and I'll see if they are higher quality. Read more

First it is by far the strongest suction of any vacuum. The lack of a cord retraction really was a small distraction. It is a very heavy machine to manhandle. Second, it gets the job done quicker; no need to keep going over tand he area you are vacuuming. Read more

Haven’t had a vacuum this powerful in my lifetime. Easy to use incredibly powerful and light weight! Produces a ton of heat and it might freak you out if you’re not prepared for it. Can’t this vacuum high enough. It’s built well has rubber stops on it to avoid damaging your wall and sucks like no other. Read more

I had never heard of this brand - it's amazing. Wish the attachment hose would stretch a little longer, but other than that, I didn't know a vacuum cleaner could clean this well! Read more

Warning for owners of high pile carpet. This vacuum does not work out of the box for soft high pile carpet. You need to order a special plate from Sebo themselves. To get the new plate on you have to take the vacuum apart and put it back together which takes a lot longer than it sounds. Read more

I love this vacuume. It has great suction and the brush head on/off switch is a must have if you have carpet and hardwood floors. The brushhead is very vigorous and might damage your hardwood floors if they are easily scratched. The 10 year warranty stated here is absolutely inaccurate. The warranty on the Sebo Dart is (quoted from the warranty registration that came with it): 7 years motors (brush and suction) 5 years parts (excluding the usual wear and tear items) and 5years labor. It is a bit pricey but the plastic components are that thicker plastic that has a heavy finish on it. Not like some vacuumes that have that thin brittle stuff (Dyson yuk!!). If I had to pick a con for this vacuume it would be that it has two filters that need replaced every 10 to 20 sweeper bag changes. I couldn't find the exhaust filter here on Amazon but Sebo wants $39.99 for it though. I'm not sure it needs changed as often as they claim. It's a microfiber sleeve that fits over the canister. Sebo says that it can't be washed but I'll probably buy a replacement when it's time and then see if the old one will wash up. The second filter is the motor filter and costs around $15. Sounds kind if expensive butI do like having those filters since I have allergies. Oh and it even though the Sebo Dart is not listed as self-propelled (couldn't find anywhere that mentioned it) it feels like it is. Great vacuume! Read more
