Forewarned, I have never tried the alarm except out of curiosity the first time i set the time. I got this clock for some specific reasons. First, it's a Seiko, so I knew it would keep the time well and be of at least a certain level of quality. Second, I wanted to be able to see the time in the dark, but I didn't want something that was going to fill the room with light, or shine into my eyes when I tried to look. This fits the bill so well. You may want to know that it is silent. it's a continuous clock movement, no ticking at all, ideal for a clock just a foot or two from your head as you try to sleep. Second, the light is a VERY gentle amber that shines in toward the clock face, not out towards you. I've got the light turning on/off with the brightness it's detecting, which helps on battery life. You can bring it to full brightness if you want to by pressing the top button, which would also be the snooze button presumably. I work nights, so thanks to having some pretty good light blocking products on my windows, it's dark in my bedroom pretty much all the time, except when I'm changing cloths. That in mind, my clock ran with the lights on almost continuously for 8 months: The clock kept running past them, keeping wonderful time, just the lights stopped working to save battery so it could keep telling time & be an alarm for you. For most people, I suspect you'd easily get more than a year of operation from this little guy. The styling is modern, but not flashy. It should fit into almost any bedroom without being out of place. The only "bad" thing I have to say about it is that it uses 3 AA batteries. This makes it annoying if you wanted to use less expensive rechargeable as those come in recharters that do 2 OR 4, but not 1 or 3 batteries at a time. It's not technically designed for such, but just a point of thought. Read more

I’ve had a digital alarm in my bedroom for decades due to their lack of noise during the night. It’s always been a concession to have that digital readout because I’d rather look at a clock face. This fits my preference perfectly. It’s made to operate at night with or without a soft light that is subtle, maybe even warm. The arms and numerals are not florissant but you can see the face well in the dark. I can’t speak to the alarm function because we don’t use it. Overall my only quibble would be that it’s all plastic, but then it’s a product of our times. I’m very pleased with this clock and it’s kept excellent time for me. Read more

Easy to read, Clock face is lit up at night. There is option to turn it off. Easy to set alarm. Easy to turn alarm off. Quiet. No ticking sound. Hour, minute and seconds hands. Traditional face, not digital. Runs on batteries which is a plus for me. Nice size for easy bedside viewing. All of these features make this one worth the price. SEIKO is one of the better brands. Not junk. Read more

I've had this clock about six months and I like it a lot. It seems to be durable and well-made. I love the fact that it doesn't make the usual TickTock sound. I also like that it doesn't have any kind of "glow in the dark" radioactive coating on the long and short hands. The night light is much better than the one I had on my previous clock. It clearly shows the clock face in the dark. My only quibble is that the rim around the front of the clock is too deep, and it throws a shadow on the clock face. Read more

Yeah, this clock is expensive, but well worth it, to me. It makes no clicking sounds, which I like for a clock near the bed. The design is flawless, beautiful clock. I don't use the alarm, but it's loud and will wake you up. Like I said, the design is beautiful and the clock is well built. It takes three AA batteries, so it will go the distance, you will not need to switch out the batteries for a long, long time. I have no complaints to report with the clock, after using it for about to three months now. If anything, I would buy another one and put it in a different room. I decided I didn't want an analog clock because I can tell better time with a wall clock like this. This is not on the wall though, it is on my computer speaker. I was waiting to write this review to see if it had any technical issues, which it does not after about 90 days of use. I would highly recommend this clock to any one reading this review and I do not think you will regret the purchase. Read more

Once you get this clock, DO NOT force the rear trap door for the batteries (3x AA) or you will pop off the delicate pins. Mine arrived with one of the plastic skinny pins that the doors pivots open on..... broken. Amazon compensated me for the damage. I updated the weak area with machine screws..... if you think this is easy... you'll quickly find out that the adjustment knob in the back will not come off easy.( couldn't get that off) Also, very limited space to put those screws into that region. Can be done but not easily, a real pain. I wasn't jazzed in sending back this clock to have it happen again. The clock is accurate, well lit and uses common batteries that can be gotten at a gas station at 2 am if needed. This clock will allow all night lighted face with a sensor that turns off the light in the daytime. All told, a solid clock with a small flaw that needs attention. Some people will end up throwing out the rear trap door, because that will become useless and nonfunctional after the pins break. If that doesn't bother you much, GET THIS!!! There is a better similar model, but at this time when I tried to buy it.... it wasn't available. The other upgraded model also features two different face lights to let you know if the alarm is on or off when depressing the snooze. Read more
