I have more clothes than I know what to do with. I already have two closets completely full plus another standing closet rack packed with clothes. That’s not even counting my dresser and the seasonal clothes stored in totes that I rotate out throughout the year. My boyfriend jokes that I basically need a separate house at this point just for my closet. I have a smaller clothing rack right now, but it is beyond full, honestly overfull, and now I’ve had to start storing clothes in totes again. So when I saw this Sehmore expandable heavy duty closet rack, it looked like exactly what I needed. And it absolutely is. When it arrived, the box itself actually wasn’t super big, which surprised me. The entire closet organizer comes in several pieces that you assemble. I was a little nervous at first because of how big this entire closet organizer is, but it was actually pretty easy to put together. I ended up building it by myself and it only took me about 40 minutes. The instructions were clearly written and easy to follow, so that was nice. Everything fit together perfectly and lined up exactly how it should. Once completely built, it feels solid and truly heavy duty. One of my favorite features is that it’s expandable. Being able to extend it out makes such a difference. That extra width gives my clothes breathing room instead of having everything smashed together. I love that I can adjust it depending on the space I have and how much I need to hang. I currently have a lot of my winter clothes on it, including bulky sweater shirts, thick sweaters, heavier jackets, and layered pieces. These are not lightweight summer tops. They are heavier and bulkier items. This rack has handled all of it perfectly and then some. When I started loading everything onto the bars, I was watching closely to see if they would sag or bend. They did not budge at all. No bowing, no leaning. The entire closet organizer is sturdy and does not wobble or move around. It says it can hold up to 800 pounds, and honestly, I believe it. I probably have at least half that on it already, maybe even closer to 600 pounds. I’m terrible at guessing what a pile of clothes weighs, but between coats, sweaters, long sleeve dresses, and more, it’s holding a lot. And it still feels completely strong and stable. I also love that it includes shelves for added storage. That makes it feel like a true closet system rather than just a basic garment rack. Not only that, but you can also keep one of the bars in the middle off so you can hang longer clothes. And if leaving it off, you can use it at the end if you want to let it hang on the wall. Personally, I just left it off, but it’s nice to have options. With the storage shelves I was able to put some storage bins and even shoes on them, which helps maximize the space even more. Everything feels sturdy and well made, from the frame to the shelves to the hanging bars.Compared to my old rack, this is on a completely different level. My smaller one would start leaning once it got overloaded. This one stays in place and actually looks organized even when it is full. At the current price of $129.99 (as of 2/26/26), I think this is a fantastic value. For something expandable, heavy duty, and capable of holding this much weight, it is absolutely worth it. Overall, this closet rack has been exactly what I needed. It holds a huge amount of clothing, supports heavier and bulkier pieces without any issues, and finally gives me a proper place to put everything instead of shoving clothes into totes. I genuinely feel more organized because of it. If you have an overflowing wardrobe like I do, this is a total game changer. Highly recommend. Read more
This expandable clothes rack has changed the life of my closet completely. Instead of one row of clothing I have multiple rows. I have a lot of clothes and my closet is always stuffed. I have one section where I don't have the middle bar in it and that is the section that I hang very long stuff as well as the section that is in front of the part of my closet that goes a little deeper and has shelves to store larger things so that provides me some access back into that spot as well even though I have a closet organizer in there. That is what stopped me from putting an organizer in my closet before and this was an option that actually worked in my space. As far as the value of this, it is literally priceless because of the fact that I now can use an organizer in a closet that was not exactly designed for an organizer to work in. I have not experienced any bowing even though I have a ton of weight of clothes hanging on these. I previously had a bunch of clothes that I couldn't even really hang in my closet or put in my closet that was shoved in drawers or boxes or totes and I now have everything hung up and I can see everything at a glance. It fits my closet fine and because it's expandable, this would work for just about any closet. This is a very high quality rack at way way less cost than most closet organization systems. I'm super happy I found this Read more
Wow, did this come in handy. First, it's much bigger than I thought it was going to be, so be sure to measure the space you want it in. I originally wanted this in my attic to hold my winter/summer clothes when I swap them, but I didn't have enough height. So, now it's in the basement. Even then, it's really wide when fully expanded, so I didn't even have enough space to fully expand the middle bar to maximize the hanging capacity I could use. So now it's a bit more compacted, but still good. I'll be honest...it did take some time to put together. Lots of pieces and I misconnected it a couple times, but eventually you'll get it together. Initially it seemed pretty steady, but the more I added to it, the more worried I became that it might tip over and hurt someone or my pets. Not because it was at all wobbly, just more my personal concern. So my husband anchored it just to be on the safe side. I like that it has so many hanging bars, so when I swap clothes I don't have to take things off hangers and into bins. But it also has shelves so I can put boxes of smaller things on them. Overall, I think it's a really good storage/organizational item. Read more
