Not only is the pattern vibrant with color, but it's made from a thick, very durable material. Between two daughter's in grade school, I've purchased just about every name brand/sport brand backpack out there, and this $30 Amazon backpack is the best quality to date.. The straps are padded thick and comfortable, and they don't loosen up from weight. Other reviews say its a bit too small, but honestly I think it's the perfect size for an elementary-middle schooler. I gave these as a Christmas/Hanukkah gift to the 3 members of a family that owns one of my puppies (now 7 years old). The photo used on the item is a lovely example of a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy (often the photos used in these items are very bad examples of the breed). This is my second backpack like this. I got the moon and then I had to get the owl too. It's comfy and holds a lot more than I initially thought. The straps are strong and adjustable, and after months of use the zipper still works great. I also love that I have to take it off to unzip it because I feel my items are more secure in crowded areas. There are many compartments and pockets to tuck things into.
