i am always looking for good quality soap. the 'Seoul Naturals Soap, Retro Nostalgic 70s and 80s Unscented Soap Bar, k beauty' is a hand-made soap made by a korean family in america. it is not exactly what you would think of as k-beauty, which usually refers to products manufactured in south korea. nevertheless, this soap is nice and has a clean smell. it is vegan, very gentle and does not strip skin of oils. it has glycerin as 1 of the ingredients, leaving hands soft. the soap comes in a generic looking box, which is ok. i am more interested in the product, than the box it came in. recommended. I have really sensitive skin. Many of the soaps I have tried either make my skin feel greasy, coated, dried out or irritated. Many scented soaps have overpowering perfumes that give me a headache. So when I spotted this unscented, old-fashioned, made-in-the-USA soap, I thought I would give it a chance. The packaging for the soap actually looks like a throw-back to the pre-World-War era and could definitely use improvement to make the product more appealing. The soap itself looks like a hand-made bar you might buy from a flea market or an artisan soap shop. I love the simple, clean scent of this soap that didn’t knock me out when I opened the box. The first few ingredients of this soap are all-natural: coconut oil, palm oil, safflower oil and vegetable glycerin, plus water. Next is sodium hydroxide (also known as lye or caustic soda), a common ingredient in old-fashioned soaps. From that point, most of the ingredients seem more questionable to me. Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol. Propylene glycol is another kind of alcohol (used as antifreeze). Then sorbitan oleate, an emulsifier. Oat protein is okay, but I am not happy about the final ingredient, titanium dioxide. I am guessing the manufacturer chose it to make the soap look bright white. While the soap lathers nicely and feels smooth on my skin, I am not happy about the alcohol content, which tends to dry skin. I also have concerns about the metal titanium dioxide. The price of almost $7 for a 4 ounce bar seems ridiculous to me, when I could easily buy a bar of soap with better ingredients at the grocery or health food store for less. I don’t think I will continue to use this soap. Read more

The box it came in was super nondescript. It took away from my perception of the product, honestly. Yes, vain, I know. But I gave it a try and it is a fine soap. I do like that it is truly unscented and doesn’t smell at all. It does a good job of lathering and leaves the skin clean. Read more

This soap is made in Kennewick, Washington and is gentle and lovely! I am someone who often dreads washing my hands because they can become so irritate so easily and hand-washing is a necessary part of my life. This unscented bar makes a nice lather and rinses clean. It doesn't make my hands or fingers itchy or feel dry. I absolutely love the plain aesthetic and it adds to the overall simple, satisfying experience. Read more

When I first saw the packaging of this Seoul Naturals soap, I didn't think of it as retro nostalgic. It looked more like a generic soap, with its simple no-frills packaging and stark white coloring. But when I washed with it, I was very happy with its quality. It made a very rich lather, rinsed cleanly, and my hands felt moisturized afterwards. That's not surprising, since the first three ingredients are coconut oil, palm oil, and sunflower oil, followed by glycerin. The ingredients are vegan and gentle even on sensitive skin like mine. There's no fragrance, no dye, and no harsh additives. In spite of the brand name, this soap is made in the USA by a Korean family-owned business. If the packaging takes you back to the good old days, all the better. I recommend it as a wonderful soap. Read more

This Seoul Naturals soap bar delivers a nostalgic, no-frills clean that feels like stepping back into simpler times. It’s unscented, which is a big win for sensitive skin or anyone who just doesn’t want overpowering fragrances. The lather is creamy and rich, and the bar itself lasts longer than expected without turning into mush after a few uses. It’s a minimalist approach to skincare that still feels like a little luxury, especially if you appreciate that old-school vibe without sacrificing quality. Pros: Rich, creamy lather Long-lasting bar Unscented and gentle for sensitive skin Retro design adds a fun, nostalgic touch Cons: Very plain; those who enjoy scented soaps might find it underwhelming May feel too "basic" for those looking for extra moisturizing benefits Bottom Line: If you want a reliable, gentle soap that feels like a retro nod to the past without sacrificing performance, this is a solid pick for your daily routine.
