Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Wipes Lemongrass Citrus Scent 70 Wipes

I wanted to write a review about these because they are really different. I bought them initially because I couldn’t get Clorox wipes or Lysol wipes anywhere. Finally. After checking availability every single night for a week straight. These came up. I bought several. At first? The scent was strange and overpowering as I wasn’t expecting ANYTHING like that! It’s very different from the other disinfecting wipes. The other products smell more antiseptic more mediciney, and this is definitely an organic experience!! Spicy. Like rosemary and basil. I took me a few days to adjust my sniffer, but once I got used to what was just an unfamiliar scent? I started to really love them! I’ve been using them for a while now, and I absolutely ADORE them. My first choice always from now on! And they do a great job of cleaning and disinfecting. It takes a second or two for the wiped down wet surface to dry completely. But then? They dry streak free!! The scent lingers - I recommend them SO highly. Don’t give up on these right away. It’s just that you’re not used to the smell. The smell is not something you have previously equated in your subconscious as a “disinfectant” type scent, but in a very short time? You become comfortable with it, It becomes very pleasant. I thought I would leave my opinion on these because I did a lot of debating if I should try them. I did end up getting some to try and I am so glad I did. I have been making the switch to a more natural approach for a few years now and have been using a lot of Norwex. However, I wanted a wipe for the toilet (because, well, boys haha). I didn’t want to use any of the Clorox brands or anything because I am trying to avoid those hazardous chemicals. So i got these and I am really happy I did. They did the trick and the toilet does not smell anymore. The smell on the wipes is strong, but I have been using thyme to clean forever so it doesn’t bother me at all. I can't complain about these. I use them sparingly because the reason I buy Seventh Generation is to be eco-friendly, while having a disposable cleaning rag feels pretty un-eco friendly. What I selectively use them for is cleaning narrow, disgusting places. It's best for the toilet, sink, shower head, drains, electric toothbrushes, and kitchen faucet. Sometimes there are areas where you just have to use your thumbnail - like the crease in your electric toothbrush or the rim around your drain - and you don't want to actually be touching the thing you're cleaning (and your hands feel suffocated in rubber gloves). The texture of these cloths gives you the barrier you need and helps remove the grit from these tricky spots. I use them around the hinges of the toilet seat, the place where the toilet is bolted to the ground, the joint in the faucet... things like that. I also like wiping chrome or stainless steel products with these but I have to go back over with a soft dry cloth like a designated cleaning sock to buff out streaks. Sometimes, I'll use these to wipe off my tile bathroom floor to collect any hair if I'm in a pinch. My hands do feel dry after using these though, so if you don't mind gloves, best to put those on. These have a very pleasant smell, too. I'm sensitive to chemical products, which make me feel light headed rather quickly. These don't have that effect on me. I'm still waiting for a product designer to come along and improve the dispenser lid. It's SO tempting to reach in there with your finger and SO regrettable if you do. (Owch.) Also, the cleaning liquid pools at the bottom of the jar. I use that as cleaning fluid with a terry cloth rag once the wipes are gone. Finally, it's important to make sure the lid is closed tightly when you're done using these. They can dry out. If they do, just close the lid and shake the container, as that pooled liquid in the bottom can redistribute to the cloths that way, unless you've left it open long enough that that's evaporated, too. These are good - work as described. Did not tear when the dispenser was used - nice quality. They just smell really weird. The scent is almost overbearing and made me nauseous. I kept them and use more for outdoor surface. Read more

I rarely use cleaning wipes as I find them wasteful, but in these times you can't have enough disinfectant options. I am a big fan of Seventh Generation Disinfecting Spray, and the wipes are as effective. Since they use safer ingredients for humans, pets and the environment (they have as good EWG rating), I much prefer them to other similar products. The wipes are sufficiently big and moist for my liking. I would say they are actually too moist, but that's great since the disinfectant actually works by letting the liquid sit on the surface. The wipes are quite sturdy, so they can be used to scrub down more heavy dirt or grease, but tough jobs require a more strong cleaner. Although they look kind of see-through, there's nothing flimsy about these wipes. What I like most is that the wipes don't dry out in the container, considering how sparse I am using them (it can take me months to go through them). If I don't like something about this product, it's the container. The mechanism to get wipes out it's not the best and lid closure is quite flimsy. I always double-check I closed it well, and even sometimes place some other container on top. The scent it's also quite strong and herbal, but not as strong as the spray.
