This is my review after 30 loads: A disclaimer before my review, I was disappointed that they did not offer a 'scent free' option, I choose 'clean' scent as I felt that would be the best solution but that was the first con before I even ordered the product. A bit of background, I always use scent free, hypoallergenic detergent and I have been looking for ways to be more eco friendly without breaking the bank because as much as I love the planet, I am a single pay check household living check-to-check. I previously was using Arm and Hammer Sensitive Skin Detergent and really liked it. However, when I saw this was excited about the slim package and the no mess cap. First impression: when opening my package it had apparently leaked and gotten all over the box. I couldn't find where it leaked from and figured it was just from being on its side. First use: it says drop, it's not. It's a squeeze. It took me a minute to understand this and I was very confused as to why it wasnt stopping after a drop. It does stop it self and it doesnt dribble. Where we are today 30ish load: i find it does an okay job of cleaning, i have a small wash and shouldn't need to use a double dose for anything but find for jeans and towels i do or they dont feel clean. The scent is barely noticeable which for me is a good thing. For those in my household with sensitive skin they haven't noticed a difference between this or the arm and hammer. I will say I do like being able to see into the clear bottle to know when I'm getting low. But it makes me feel like I'm using a lot more laundry detergent than I am. The bottle also continues to leak even standing up. I constantly have soap running down the sides and pooling underneath it and can't figure out where its leaking from. Overall I would recommend this to anyone with small loads, someone doing frequent loads, first time laundry doiers, college dorms, and light messes. I haven't had to fight any tough messes like spaghetti or wine, but again heavy items do need that extra dose of detergent. Read more
I have been buying these for about a year and really like the product. This brand generally receives pretty good reviews for being "cleaner" than many other brands that have lots of undesirable additives. I have not had an issue with the cleaning and there isn't really much of a scent to the clothes after washing. What I like most is the small bottle and the fact that it self measures the amount needed. It makes for a less cluttered laundry area. Since our laundry room is right off our kitchen and also serves as a walkin pantry, I like that I don't have a bunch of laundry bottles around and they store on a shelf with no worries about leaking dispensers or heavy bottles. I move quite often and lugging around massive jugs of half empty laundry detergent was a headache. I've been using Seventh Generation's concentrated laundry detergent for years now and I not only love the scents and ingredients but appreciate the concentrated formula and smaller plastic footprint. Note: The detergent is CONCENTRATED. If your washing machine does not have a seperate spot for detergent I HIGHLY recommend adding this concentrated detergent after your machine fills with water or you may see concentrated clean spots on your clothing Read more
