Everything about this purchase has been better than expected! The quality is so much higher than you’d expect for a DIY piece of furniture at this price point. Plus, right off the bat, it came four days earlier than expected. Then, it was the most thoughtfully packaged build-it-yourself item I have EVER seen (and I’ve seen a lotttt over the years!!) It was incredibly easy to put together by myself while my kids were gone for the evening. It took about 2 hours total. Most pieces were clearly marked -and the ones that weren’t, were still easy to identify. Although just built and, thus, hasn’t yet stood the test of time, it seems very sturdy. Most of the construction is a metal frame and the multiple slats of the “platform” portion have plastic end caps that actually click into the metal frame. (No incessant banging 1,000 finishing nails like with most bed construction - yay!!) I’ve had to move it a couple times around the room while I’m still painting/wallpapering, but it’s built so well that it’s been no trouble. Because I already had it, I did use the 6” box spring I had for this bedroom set, although, it wouldn’t be needed for this kind of bed frame (mattress alone would suffice - but I wanted the rich look of a loftier bed.) I paired it with a 10” mattress and it looks amazing. The drawers of this have a locking mechanism - simply lift drawer up to “latch” a pin into an opening in the frame. They’re surprisingly sturdy despite being so easy to move. Since the drawers are like wire baskets of sorts, I did purchase a shallow plastic bin at the dollar store for tinier items (jewelry, hair/nail products) so that the wouldn’t fall through. The storage is plentiful! This room had had 3 under-bed storage bins and I was able to fit all of that into just 2 of the drawers - with 2 more to spare!! I purchased this for my daughter’s room… she’s a collage student who needs lots of storage when she’s home for all of her dorm items. This bed meets all our needs (needs from a bed, that is - lol!), was incredibly priced for its high quality, and is gorgeous. All in all, it’s WAY surpassed all my expectations!! This thing took my boyfriend and I two hours to put together. It was a bit of a pain to assemble but once it was together I became thrilled! The bed is wonderful. The directions aren't terribly hard to follow, just getting the right angle on some of the allen wrenches was obnoxious. I would advise you to add a box spring, as it sits very low to the ground with just a mattress (as you can see). The drawers are spacious and roll easily out from under the bed! I also love that they "latch" into place when not in use so they don't roll out on you unexpectedly😂 It looks so expensive and classy. Great news! The bed was quality I had hoped for! The assembly process was an ease. (Although my husband assembled). It has the platform look I was aiming for. A few facts : the headboard isn’t as tall as the pic has. But it’s still a decent height, it can depend on the height on one’s mattress. I had seen in precious reviews minor scuffs on upholstery. I expected to find one, which did. But it was underneath the bottom end, so I settled for leaving it as is. Shipping was fast! The seller got this to us in a timely manner, sooner than it’s expected final day of shipment. Thank you! The color is beautiful (dark grey). It looks more expensive that it actually is. Now we all know super boujee bed frames, this isn't that, but damn is it a good bed frame. Deliver: Everything came on time, if not a bit early. It is a bit heavy so unless you've been lifting or have some help, be ready to put your back into it, or grab a second person for some help. Parts: All the parts arrived, undamaged in great quality. Assembly: It takes like 45m-1h solo job. Everything is marked and the instructions are straight forward, not a lot of opportunity to get lost or confused. Everything seemed relatively measured properly, so no weird assemblies on my end. Fit and storage bins: The storage bins are nice and discrete once you get a mattress on there, could always purchase those gown looking things for the bed too if it does feel like it sticks out for you. I purchased a queen sized mattress and it fits nice and snug. Again there are better frames out there, but for the price and the utility this frame has, it's a 5/5 Read more
