Best sounding, and most compact mid range dap with a lot of power. Sounds better than m21 and dx180 after a bit of use. Beautiful build and decent battery life. Very organic and natural sounding but with great technicalities, top notch dynamics. Staging, imaging, and resolution. Great detail all around as well. Some bugs, and the screen isn't as nice as dx180. Shanling app is very pedestrian, but use fiio app, hiby, neutron, uapp and this thing shines. It's doesn't sound digital. 5 stars for excellent sound and compact size. Read more

The good news is the Shanling M3 Plus sounds wonderful and looks great. It feels snappy moving through screens, has newer Android, but as mentioned - the default player that is required for Android Free mode does not have a true gapless. For a product at this price point, I think it is a major blunder. The player also does not quite support playback to Wiim devices. I posted about this on the Wiim forums with no real answers. It will play one song, frequently cut in and out, and then completely stop between tracks unless you wake up the screen. If you do not care about Wiim playback or the Android Free mode, this is a good option. Read more

I really like this dap, but I can't recommend it. So far I have four problems with it: 1. No gap-less playback- weird omission especially when older Shanling devices had it. 2. No system wide EQ- The EQ is tied to the Shanling app. In other words if you install Poweramp to fix the gap-less issue you lose the EQ 3. No double tap to wake- A standard feature on android devices. Thinking in the long term, using of the power button (that also doubles as volume control) every time the dap goes to sleep is unnecessary wear. 4. Abysmal Wifi/Bluetooth range- Feels like I'm working with half the range I should be. Read more

Please know before you buy this that they do not advertise that almost unlike every other modern player this does not have gapless. You must purchase a third party app for that and good luck getting it to work if you have a large collection like I do Read more

Unhappy with the purchase. Does not work consistently with various Bluetooth devices: such as HP computer, Sony Bluetooth or Klipsch Bluetooth. Sometimes it works, sometimes it connects and no sound, sometimes it will not connect. Regretting the purchase. Read more
