EDIT: I increased this review from 1 to 5 stars. One was because it did not sharpen scissors at ALL. But then I used the "knife" end to sharpen a curved machete that I've been using vigorously to address hundreds of tall stick weeds on my farm. It removed several notches and sharpened the blade so well that I accidentally cut my finger and had to get a band aid after testing the sharpness. Scissors review is below. - - - - - - I used the scissors sharpener area to sharpen some standard titanium scissors. It absolutely did NOT work. I watched the Sharpal video in case I was doing it wrong. I wasn't. Also, you can tell in the video that even the video demonstrator's scissors are not making reasonable contact with the sharpening area. So his scissors didn't get sharp either!! Read more

We ordered this tool to sharpen knives. However, this tool has shown to be useful to sharpen a variety of items, including scissors. This tool is also safer than some tools for sharpening items as it contains the sharpening within the tool and there are no open parts. It is hand held and comfortable to use. Would be great for garden tools as well. Read more

Im really pleased with this…. Did a great sharpening job on my kitchen knifes and leatherman tool blade. Also on my katana (a gift from a deceased friend). The best bit is that due to the unique design it’s virtually impossible to cut yourself while sharpening the blades, and the other sharpener i had it was always a risk. Read more

It's just ok it will sharpen your tools but there are better ways and products. However if you are a novice tool sharpener or just want something to throw a decent edge on a knife or Hatchett this guy will work. Just don't use all the time learn to strop you tool between use as this will remove quite a bit of material and once it's gone it's gone. Strop honing will refine the edge and save your blade. All this said it's a good value and has its place in tool maintenance. Read more
