Originally saw this reviewed by YouTuber Outdoors55 who is a knife sharpening expert. He recommended based on years of experience. He wasn't wrong. This is probably the highest quality for the money diamond sharpener on amazon. It works as advertised and is large enough to handle bigger kitchen knives. Not thick enough to hold in your hand unless your doing small pocket knives, but easy enough to get a 2x4 cut to size and make a holder. Will definitely up your hand sharpening game. Fast and effective for shaping the steel, yet fine enough to put on a hair whittling edge. After 30 or so sharpenings, I can't see any deterioration and it's perfectly flat. Read more

This looks well made and works good. (I'm no expert on diamond stones). The course grits help to get an edge quickly and when used with a leather strop produces a very sharp edge. The guide was pretty useless to me but it could give a rough idea of the different angles to use. I recieved my diamond board today. It was packaged in a brand new crisp box with a lot of padding, sharpening degree guide, registration form providing an extra year warranty and some instruction materials. The diamond board is perfect. It's level, no blemishes, throughly covered, no rust I mean it is beautiful. I hate to use a blade instrument on it. I have ordered many diamond boards and this is the best I've ever seen. I'm serious I might not use it and keep it so pristine. It came on time between 4am-8am. The person that made this board must have been the guy who has been doing this for 40 years, never misses a day of work, cuts his lunch break short to make more diamond boards, loves what he is doing, loves his wife and kids, successful in everything he does, is modest and this is what makes him happy. I would love to hand him personally a tip and bow down to his superb craftsmanship. I would love to include a pic but I don't know how. If I figure it out I will attach it later. Along with a strop, this got my best D2 steel knives shaving sharp in minutes. The angle guide is great for learning the muscle memory needed for hand sharpening. Unlike woodworking tools, the bevel is so small it is almost impossible to register by feel. The guide let's me set and lock my position and recheck every few strokes. The two grit sizes are perfect for knives. Coarse gets to apex quickly and extra fine refines the edge fine enough for most work. Great addition to my kit. Read more

It's flat. It cuts aggressively. But it's not quite what I'd hoped. I really wanted to use this as a flattening stone, but it loads fairly quickly and has to be cleaned. And there's the rub, you can't use water to clean it. So you brush and vacuum to get the residue out of it. I'll keep it just for the rare times I sharpen tools. I probably won't use it on my knives. Great price for a very useful and consistently decent quality stone. I use it all the time. I also have the 325 and 1200 grit from Sharpal, but this 220/600 might be more useful for everyday sharpening of tools and knives that are getting hard use. I've been using one or the other of these over a year, every day, and I love that I don't need to use any liquid or otherwise prep it. Sometimes I wipe them off with a paper towel or scrubber, but mostly not. The 325/1200 came with a box with rubber feet that doubles as a holder and I just swap the stones onto that as needed. Sharpal continues to prove they provide quality with value. I'm surprised at the low cost of this and expected the diamonds to start falling off. It has held up well and I've used it now to initiate first-stage sharpening on my camping knives. Even distribution and consistent grit of diamonds and the surface has continuity of grit after the significant usage. Plastic substrate is not a problem. WELL made and will certainly recommend this before the price increases. I was expecting to get a lower quality product but am pleasantly surprised. Am tempted to buy another one. Read more

Awesome value in this wonderful and high performance product, I'm a professional sharpener and have been for many years and when it comes to diamond plates sharpal are the best high performance diamond plates on the market at their price points, they are 95% as good as atoma except you get two grits for half the cost of a single atoma plate. These are incredibly consistent plates and last a long time I love them! For your dollar you can't find better diamond plates, not even close actually these are far and away the best deal on the sharpening market.
