Phenomenal blade, Phenomenal company, and MIND BLOWING customer service!!!
FINAL UPDATE: This company has exhibited absolutely incredible customer service at a level so rare these days that its damn near unheard of. They have gone above and beyond to make things right for me, listened to the issues I had, and taken the steps to remedy them. I have been fairly compensated, they have taken the steps to fix the product's safety issue, and they have updated their item description to accurately reflect the product that you will be receiving. I am rarely impressed by a company these days, especially regarding customer service, but this company has absolutely blown my mind. I cannot overstate the fact that this razor, once sharpened up and stropped, is AMAZING! Feels great in the hand, is well balanced, and cuts clean, straight edges. This purchase gets you not only an amazing blade, but the satisfaction that comes with supporting a rare and deserving company. Do yourself a favor and schedule the delivery of this blade to your box. Happy shaving! 2/25/2017 UPDATE:I am currently in contact with the company and they are absolutely making things right, and in a timely manner I may add. Once we have reached a conclusion I will update my review to reflect my final thoughts. As a reminder, or TL;DR for you kids, The razor is GREAT. It does need to be sharpened before use, and the company is fixing a minor safety issue at this time. Buy it, sharpen it, and go to town to achieve some of the sharpest, straightest lines your skill level will allow ;) EVERYTHING BELOW IS IRRELEVANT AT THIS POINT. I WILL LEAVE IT THOUGH SO THAT RESEARCHING PARTIES CAN SEE THE HISTORY, THE RESOLUTION, THE PROCESS, AND THE PHENOMENAL SPEED WITH WHICH THE COMPANY DEALT WITH IT. I had very high hopes for this, and I have to say for the most part I have been let down. I gave the razor 60 days use before leaving this review so that it would be fair and informed. First of all, this razor absolutely is not shave ready, but if you are using a straight razor you should already own a set of stones and a strop, so I overlooked that fact. The razor itself is absolutely gorgeous and made in the good ole USA, which means a lot to me. The reason that I have to give this product a low star rating is because of a safety issue. You will notice in the picture that the blade does not sit inside of the handle when closed. The tip of the blade actually goes through the other side and has now caused a significant cut to my fingers on three occasions. I should have returned the razor immediately when I noticed this issue. I thought that after I brought it to a good edge and became comfortable using it, instead of my other razors, that it would be something I could overlook. Well, I cannot. There is no way for me to repair it and because I chose to wait until I could offer an informed review I can no longer request a replacement or return. It is extremely unfortunate because this razor has the potential to be one of the favorites in my collection, but now it will just wind up in the bottom of a drawer unused, :-( I absolutely hate when I end up wasting $50, give or take, on something that I was genuinely excited about owning. The only other complaint that I have is that I don't feel as though the razor should be advertised as shave ready simply because not everyone is already in a position to do things like put an edge on a razor that is advertised as shave ready. I will gladly update my review to five stars if I see good customer service, an updated product description, and a resolution is reached for me. Read more
