Very easy to install once you have all the correct parts. After looking through some reddit threads, a Shelly employee recommended using 14 AWG wire for the relay, but my house uses 12 AWG wire basically everywhere. I used 14 AWG wire and some Wago clips to connect to the lead from the house and had no issues powering the relay. I installed this on an outlet to power a cheap wall mounted tablet with terrible battery management. The outlet now turns on and off to keep the tablet battery between 25% and 85% and has worked flawlessly. Getting the relay to go into Zigbee mode was a little more complicated than the instructions imply (I had to press the button harder than I thought, it felt like I was pressing hard enough but the relay wouldn't change radios), but once I had it in Zigbee mode, I was able to connect it to Home Assistant through Z2M with no issues. As a bonus, if you put this in Zigbee mode it will automatically act as a Zigbee repeater. I went back and forth between this and the mini for a long time, but the higher amperage rating for the 1PM Gen 4 is what pushed me over the edge. It was tough getting the ZigBee firmware going at first, I thought that I wouldn't let the switch connect to wifi at all. But then I hooked it up to the internet, let it update, and everything was smooth sailing after that. The switch has so many features that it seems like I'm missing something just using it as a simple remote switch. I'll invest on some Shelly Add-ons to use them as thermostats and other ideas I have. This was the only 16-amp solution I could find. Works great as a Smart switch for an outlet. I had really wanted to use the Bluetooth gateway as well, but when I switched the unit to Zigbee, the Bluetooth gateway was gone. Since my Wi-Fi does not reach to where I installed it, Zigbee was my only option. It is, however, a nice Zigbee router to add to my network. Read more
