Have used many different kinds of gloves over the years, been through dozens of pairs, maybe over a hundred. I cut 10 cords of firewood annually and the gloves I buy need to hold up to the abuse of handling firewood. Everything up to this point has been a failure - the double-palm pigskin leather, the cheap brown cloth gloves, the ridiculously expensive anti-vibe mechanic's gloves, and everything else for that matter. For a while I was buying anything that said "masonry work" on them since I know how demanding that is on gloves. Best I could get was a single season before they developed holes, broke seams, or were so compromised by wear, moisture, fuel/oil and other contaminants that they just fell apart. The Showa Atlas 300 gloves were recommended online by some professional landscapers and arborists and other guys who cut a lot of firewood like I do. I bought one pair thinking that I would try them out and see how they held up. It's been a year and I still use the same pair of gloves, there is no visible wear on the latex/rubber dipped part of the glove, the only problem is that the rubber is starting to come away from the cloth glove in a couple of places. I decided they were so good that I bought a full dozen - at less than $3 a pair, what's the risk? I'm on my second pair now, but still use the old ones for really dirty & nasty stuff. It'll be 20 years before I use up all of these. I am recommending them to anyone looking for gloves, and I am buying them for my grounds crew at work (I run a 40-person maintenance department). They are very comfortable, fit my hands well, work fine in winter and summer as the backs of your hands can breathe (there is an insulated winter version but I have not tried them) and best of all they are the most durable gloves I have ever used. I can even handle wet or oily things that would wreck a leather glove, and with these it's not even noticeable. Read more

I've worn many different brands of this type of glove over the last 10+ years. So far this is the best brand I've used. Currently I run a CNC machine for a cabinet shop, so I am handling wood (mainly plywood) all day. And these are the toughest and longest lasting gloves (of this type) that I have used. My only "complaint" is that they make my hands sweaty. But that's not because of this brand, it's just what happens when wearing rubberized gloves. So I get them a size larger to make them easier to get on and off. Hand size - large. Glove size - extra large. Read more

I buy these for work and they honestly last me a good bit before I need to retire a pair out. I drive trucks for a living so I'm constantly messing with diesel, grease and alot of wear and tear. The fit is perfect and I don't need to worry about them slipping or sliding off my hands, the grip on them are great for a while, My only con is that they wear around the fingers with continuous use along the length of the finger. Other then that, I love them. Read more

I use these gloves on a hardscaping (stone pavers) project. The non-skid rubber layer works great even on dusty (read "slippery") stones. So far I'm still on the first pair and it shows no signs of wear. The sizing is perfect, which threw me a bit off. I originally bought size S - from experience, other brands offer size S that is actually M. The SHOWA Atlas are true to size - I had to return Size S and get size M, which fits me perfectly. Great product and great price. Read more
