Excellent lamp! It's a cute mushroom design which I love, and it bends into any position needed without too much effort. The clamp is sturdy and all the color options are great. It has a warm light and more cool light option. I also like that there's a way to dim the light from very bright to super low. There's a way to just have the top beam light and not the bottom too. The packaging was very minimalistic too which is good. I purchased 2 lamps in May of 2025, and only 1 started blinking and stopped lighting. However, the company sent a replacement quickly the moment I emailed them through Amazon contact support. It has a lifetime guarantee which is wonderful. I love these lamps. I bought two. One was a gift. I like that it has a dedicated power cord and the remote is attached to the power cord, so I won’t be losing that remote lol. The color choices are cool, the brightness is pretty good for a reading light. I haven’t noticed any issues with mine nor has the person who received theirs’ noticed anything. We have the black and the white one and they’re both great. The neck is really flexible, as long as you distribute the weight properly, it’s not going to tip, or move for that matter. I needed clip-on lamps for our very small condo bedroom. I nearly purchased from one of the China-based companies—you know the ones—with brand names that appear to be created from a cat walking over their keyboard, GMail customer service contacts, using exactly the same descriptions and product photos as a dozen other alphabet soup Chinese brands. Just before I clicked 'purchase', I saw the Smallish Shroommate. It cost a little more, and at first I thought the "mushroom" top design was a little odd, but I liked that it was a small US-based company—so I gave it a chance. I'm so happy I did. The design allows for incredibly flexible usage. Light placement, color, light temperature, focus, dimming all work great. The ability to have the light emanate from the top, bottom, or both is simple and intuitive. The clamp is wider than others you see, but seems to be reliably sturdy. One thing you don't see in product photos is the light control pad - attached about 7-8 inches from the clamp along the cord. My only disappointment is that despite being a US-based company, the light is manufactured in China (beware knock-offs likely coming soon), but that's really difficult to avoid nowadays. Extremely happy with the product and the company so far. My biggest recommendation for buyers? Don't purchase this from Amazon. Go directly to thinksmallish.com and buy from them. This light is both adorable and functional. It is my daughter’s favorite dorm room purchase! The bright white mode gives enough light for the whole room while studying and the colored light modes make for cozy relaxation. The clip is super strong and stays in place. The bendable “stem” allows for light at any angle. The price is great, especially for the good quality product received. The shroommate light is great for home or school. We highly recommend it! The media could not be loaded. I really bought this for my work space because the fluorescent lights are terrible to work under. The other lights I considered don’t have all the bells and whistles this does. Additionally because I work in a setting with children, I need a lamp that is safe, is cute, and most importantly FUN. Check! Check! Check! Because it arrived earlier than anticipated I tried it out this week and weekend at home. The video does not really do this lamp justice and I didn’t realize too that to dim or brighten the light you can just hold down and avoid all the clicking. The colors are much more vibrant than shown.i truly could not capture them in my amateur video. I think the kids will think the colors are great. Me- I really like the numerous “white light” options. While I’m not looking forward to writing reports at my desk, I now can at least view my laptop in soft or bright light. Did I mention the light can be cast down or up with a click on the switch without adjusting the arm? Most of the other lights I compared this too only cast light one way, unless you adjust the arm. This light it’s just a click on the switch. I also have to mention the flexible arm. The arm is sculptural and functional, meaning this lamp can look different at a whim. The arm is much longer than the ones Amazon compared this too. I noticed that where it could attach to my work desk seemed to “block” my drawer- BUT I simply could swing it out of the way and presto it went right back into place where I needed it. The clip seems strong and sturdy and I need both my hands to open it so it won’t fall or slip wherever I attach it and did not budge when I was sculpting the arm. While the clip is sturdy, it did not scratch the two wooden legs I clipped it to and I don’t want to scratch my work furniture so no damage is a plus. The clip also allows me to have light and not take up valuable floor or desk space like a traditional lamp. I also noticed it’s notched so I’m assuming it can attach on a straight edge or maybe something rounded. Finally the controls are user friendly which was a bonus for anyone. Picture symbols that can be seen by kids who can’t read yet and FELT …meaning if you’re in the dark you know what to press-how genius. Oh and the PLUG! USB and a plug too. Most companies cheap-out and make you scramble to find a plug. Not this lamp! While I believe this is advertised for college kids to have flexible, functional, and adorable lighting- it can work for all kinds of people. What a neat idea, the ambient light on top combined with the functional light on the bottom, makes this a pleasant item. Used in College dorm and attached to top bunk bed via the spring clamp. The clamp is very sturdy. The ability to change the colors of the top section is pretty nice, and the bottom section, puts off a lot of light. Good thing the light settings are adustable. Read more
