So many good things to say about these pants! They arrived wrinkly, but I hate ironing. I put them in the dryer on low for 10 minutes, and they came out perfect! The tag also says hand wash… which I won’t do. I’ll report back with how they hold up to machine washing. They did wrinkle a bit while wearing (see photos). I ordered the brown color- it’s a nice warm brown, and goes with many colors. The material is not anything like velvet, but is actually sleek, smooth, and a decent thickness. It is very stretchy but also holds its shape well. After a full day, they still fit the same! I love the cropped style. I’m 5’-7” and they hit above my ankles. The high waist is VERY high. Basically to the bottom of my rib cage. The stretch of the fabric kept them comfortable, even when sitting down. These pants can be dressed up or dressed down. The sewing is very good quality. The seams are neat and straight. The darts above the pockets are a nice touch! I was a little disappointed to see that the inner button had come loose after the first wear, but it’s nothing I can’t fix easily. My biggest complaint is the sizing. I vary between a 12 and 14, so I ordered a 14 just to be safe. It was a wise choice, as they definitely fit more like a 12. Read more
These shy velvet women’s pants are wonderful. To begin with, you should know that the brand name is not reflective of the material used in the pants. These pants are not velvet, but rather a stretchy, water repellent synthetic material that is similar to some Eddie Bauer pants I have but can no longer get. Which is to say they have a sporty fabric that stretches well when moving and bending. These are also incredibly comfortable. I was wearing sweatpants before trying them on and they were twice as comfortable as my sweats. The waistband is so soft. The brown color is pleasing and will go with many tops- definitely a nice autumn color. These are not very cropped on my. I am 5’7” they fit nicely and while the inseam is definitely shorter than average they are not full-on clam-diggers. These material is thicker than a light trouser, feels both soft and durable. As far as the cut, ding dong! These are quite the bell bottom but they accompany a generally wide leg which makes the bell less radical. I like how they appear to be a sailor fit. Very flattering! I do like these pants, but they are so crinkly and I’m afraid to say, look a little cheap. I wore them with a graphic tee, a denim jacket and some white Vans and I think it helped elevate the look. The pants are actually very flattering with a good amount of stretch to them. I just am not in love with the material, which is kind of slick and not soft. I ordered my size and it fit perfectly, so definitely order your size. I don’t feel these are pants to wear to work, unless you have a really nice top and shoes to complete the look, I just fear it’ll cheapen your whole ensemble. I also don’t work in an office setting so maybe other ladies can be more creative with their styling. After wearing them all day, they were still comfortable, but they also loosened up throughout the day so if you happen to be in between sizes, order the smaller size; but again, it’s pretty true to size.
