For a few years I’ve been suffering with side sleeping ear pain. So much so that I seemed a dermatologist thinking that I could possibly have skin cancer on my ear from how sore, red and inflamed it had become. This dermatologist recommended I look into a donut shaped ear pillow for sleeping, I completely ignored her pillow suggestion until recently when my ear pain had increased. So I starting researching and read too many pillow reviews to count. I came across this pillow and was instantly sold when I read the review from a gentleman who posted before and after pictures of his similar ear sleeping pain, and how wonderful this pillow was. He was right! I’ve only used the pillow for one week now, but I’m beyond thrilled to see my red inflamed ear from side sleep has already started to subside! Amazing product that’s seriously comfortable shredded foam inside with a super soft zipper cover included. Some complained of smelling off, but I’ve had no smell issues. Buy this pillow if you suffer from side sleeping ear pain, it’s worth the it and you won’t be disappointed! Read more

I took my time to use this before reviewing it. This is not a big poofy fluffy pillow that will sit on your grand king sized bed next to your other poofy but useless pillows. This pillow is 100% workhorse. I have never used a pillow like this before, and hopefully will only use this one from here on out. My ear pain that I would get almost every night from my other feather, synthetic, and even more firm memory foam pillows would wake me up at night with throbbing ears, and often I had a lot of trouble getting the right support and wake with neck pain. I ordered this out of desperation and am so glad! It's soft enough around the ears without losing its support, and comes with a couple of inserts that raise the height of the pillow if you prefer (I use both of these inserts). I appreciate that I can lie on my side to read with glasses on, and the holes will support the glasses frame enough that I can actually read comfortably. The company also sent me a free extra pillowcase. I do use a regular pillowcase over the one it came with, just so it won't get bullied sitting on the bed with the poofy ones who look pretty but don't get used. This pillow changed my sleep quality, and I highly recommend it. Read more

The pillow is comfortable and easy to adjust, my only gripe is that it doesn’t come with a pillowcase and putting a regular pillow case defests the purpose of having the ear hole so I find myself washing the outer shield more often that it should be washed Read more

I really love this pillow. It's my 2nd one. I used the first one for about 3 years, and it was starting to go a bit flat in the front, and the channels below the ear holes were getting much wider causing the pillow to have less support. I bought this one recently as a replacement. This pillow has eliminated the neck pain I used to wake up with every morning. Whether you sleep on your side or your back, this pillow supports your neck and head to ease the pressure that causes upper back and neck pain. I also have TMJ, and it's very helpful for that also. I put a standard sized pillowcase over it, and my ears can still access the holes perfectly when sleeping on either my right or left side. The pillow I have is the softer version of the 2 that are offered. For me the firmness is perfect. You can remove one or both of the thin flat supports based on how thick you want the pillow to be. I use both of these thin supports and also use a flat standard sized pillow under this memory foam pillow, and the height is perfect for me. I highly recommend this pillow, and I never give anything 5 stars, so that's how much I love it! Read more

I have had major neck and back surgery so the correct pillow is difficult. This pillow would probably work for a lot of CPAP users and others. Read more

My dermatologist suggested getting a pillow of this sort because she diagnosed CNH. It helped some, but it became more hassle than it was worth to try to get my ear in exactly the right position to prevent the discomfort of CNH. Most nights, despite my best efforts, I failed in the attempt and pressure was exerted by either the stuffing within the pillow itself or the part of the pillowcase surrounding the hole. The result was that I still had some CNH to deal with. Less than had been the case, but not enough less. In addition, it comes with only one pillowcase and there is no indication that additional ones are available. So if it wears out, you get to buy a whole new pillow. It is likely that it will wear out, because it has to be laundered after a few uses; removing it from and replacing it on the pillow is a hassle. After I was about to give up on it, I noticed that my wife had a little U-shaped thing--actually closer to omega-shaped, minus the sort of serifs at the bottom of an omega (for some reason I'm not able to upload the picture I took of it in any of the various formats I have tried) that makes it easy to avoid any contact with my ear but supports my head. It is around a foot in diameter. Its brand name is Belle Hop. It is available on Amazon: My dermatologist suggested getting a pillow of this sort because she diagnosed CNH.
