Sidney Sleep Adjustable Curved Contour Fill Pillow Queen Size for Side and Back Sleepers Neck Shoulder Comfort Support

This pillow system is the best! I love the customization, support and softness. I decided write a review after almost a year of constant and exclusive use to give a honest feedback. I never had an issue with neck pain, which is a first for me. I held on the my favorite old pillow just in case and found I didn't need it after the first week. I have since thrown it away after about 5 faithful years of solid wash/dry/use. I usually have to acclimate to a traditional, store bought pillow ($10-60 ones that claim they are for back/ side sleepers ) and the pain usually starts after the first night, crescendos over 7 days and then subsides over another week. Never happened with pillow. I let the base and extra filling air out for 72 hours after opening, which I highly recommend. Not tossing in the dryer, which is an option, but I can't see how that will get you the best value for the investment of your most treasured rest to shortcut the process. Just be patient and let it acclimate to the room it will spend the most time in, similar to wood flooring in your home. Because I chose the slower method, I still never have smelled any chemicals or off putting odors. I intially used the pillow as it was originally packaged in order to get a sense of the support for the first 21 days. I determined at that point, I wanted to see what adding the extra filling would be like. Not because I had neck pain, but because I notice I tend to squish the filling to whatever side I am on for the longest amount of time. GAME CHANGER! I have long term support and comfort that bounces back after constant use and learned bunching (I am trying to not bunch under my neck for support. Know that will take time because it is a learned behavior from bad support from other 'back/side sleeper' pillows that don't live up to stated claims). The zipper on the case is durable, even when I noticed I was pushing the filling to one side, it held up. It was never so bulky that your natural sleep patterns won't adjust to and even out. I went through the intial summer heat and the 'second' NYC summer without feeling like my head was cooking. I would not say this particular pillow system offers any direct cooling effect that you will noticeably feel. I would say that, the hottest summer days, with a satin pillowcase, it wasn't as bad as I have had in the past. 80-90 degree heat and heavy humidity, I didn't wake up constantly with my head in a pool of sweat. It is not a "cooling effect" so much as, you don't sweat at all, in an humidity or temperature. It's more like, a reasonable person shouldn't find fault or sweat as much with a box or shop fan. The context of like for like, not a dedicated AC or Temp/Climate control system throughout an entire house is not equivalent. Please, leave room for bias. Especially, in these reviews. I can’t tell you how many pillows I’ve been through over the years, especially the ones claiming to align your cervical spine. I had a cervical fusion many years ago and have some chronic pain issues related to that. So, it’s really important to me to have a comfortable, supportive pillow. I’ve had this for a couple of weeks now and I’m really enjoying it. It did have a bit of a chemical smell at first, but that’s no longer an issue. I ordered these based on all the five star reviews. I really like these pillows but am not in love with them. There are two pillows in this set and they are not mini-pillows to me. There is also a package of cut up foam in case I want to put more of this foam in the pillow. In addition, there is a cloth backpack (see photo). These pillows are soft and comfortable to use. I love the crescent design. However, they are made of cut up foam. Had I known that, I might not have ordered them. I hate cut up foam. They also have a smell to them that I hope will go away over time. I am glad, however, that these are not mini in size. I consider them medium-sized pillows. The outer shell is a zippered pillowcase and then there is an interior white zippered cover holding the foam together. The extra foam can be added here. I waited until there was a discount on these before purchasing so the current price at the time I ordered was $37.49 plus tax (instead of $49.99 plus tax). For that price I think these are competitively priced. To me these are 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars. If this were solid memory foam and did not smell, then I would have rated them 5 stars. YOU NEED THIS PILLOW NOW! I have purchased so many, and I mean like 2 dozen pillows but nothing compares to the Sidney sleep pillow. I have a closet dedicated to all the pillows I’ve purchased and now I can’t sleep without this curve pillow. I’m a side sleeper but usually throughout the night I end up on my back. This pillow is very soft and makes laying on your back very comfortable. The curve on it helps go around your neck and doesn’t lift your shoulders which is the key to sleeping the correct way. It is thick enough for support and you can set it the way you want. I’ve had it for months and still feel brand new, has not deflated at all. I love this pillow!!!! Read more

This pillow actually is pretty good. But beware, it has a very strong obnoxious odor to it. I thought it would go away within a day or two. I have been using it for at least a week now and the odor is still there but is slowly fading away. Read more
