In the seemingly never ending gradual task of replacing all the lightbulbs in our home with LED bulbs, these lights are replacing the bulbs in the can lights of our kitchen and kitchen nook/dining area. I happily cannot tell the difference between these and the ones they are replacing, but I know that since they are using 90% less energy, that I will be saving money on my energy bill. The lights are beautiful & exact replacements for our old BR30 bulbs. The light is clean, crisp, and in a comfortable color shade of 2700 K. (This color most closely resembles the yellow/white color of the standard incandescent bulbs that it replaces.) The light comes on instantly, no warm up required. Of course, there is no flickering or glimmering - these are modern LED bulbs, and all that hinkiness has been worked out long ago. And since they are long life bulbs, I am grateful that I will not be having to get up on a ladder to replace these babies for a long long time. (10 foot ceilings are nice, except then it comes to replacing lightbulbs!) Great lightbulbs that produce a perfect light and promise to save on energy costs. Yes Sir! Read more
The data behind LED bulbs is fairly clear that these are the way to go in terms of energy efficiency/cost compared to regular light bulbs. What it really comes down to, though, in rating this product, is the cost vs longevity. I’ve just received them (shipped really quickly, packaged well, bulbs undamaged) so who knows how long they will last compared to other LED bulbs? They are extremely bright, look nice, and seem to be well made/high quality, but they really won’t be worth it if they don’t last long. Right now, they are priced at $3.97 per bulb, which is mid-range compared to other 65Watt equivalent LED, dimmable, flood light bulbs, so hence the 4 star instead of 5 star rating. I will drop the rating further if they don’t last long, but hopefully that will not be the case. Read more
Transitioning into the brave new world of light bulbs has not been easy for us. My wife likes the warm quality of traditional incandescent bulbs and has been very resistant about change. As incandescent bulbs started disappearing from stores, she asked me to hoard some for future use. But we live in California, where selling incandescent bulbs is forbidden, so we’ve been forced to slowly change over. After some initial mistakes, I’ve learned that 2700K bulbs produce light very much like old-fashioned incandescents. I installed one of these bulbs side by side a few feet from an older 65w incandescent. Externally the LED and the incandescent are indistinguishable. This bulb has the same dimensions, so you can’t tell the difference. When I flip the switch, the LED bulb is slightly slower to turn on, but the momentary lag is not bothersome. The LED bulb appeared slightly brighter than my old 65w incandescent, so I had to read the info printed on the bulbs. The old incandescent bulb says it puts out 620 lumens while this LED puts out 650. The additional brightness is not bothersome and actually the extra brightness is welcome in our bathrooms (for putting on makeup, for example). So yes, I like these bulbs, and into the brave new LED world we shall go. Read more
So far, I like these indoor floodlights. The color and brightness are perfect; even a little brighter than I expected. Great for multiple can lights that are on the same light switch. There is no warmup, where they start off dim, then get brighter, but there's that split second delay when you switch them on, which is pretty normal for LED floods and lightbulbs that I've tried recently. I've had these three screwed in for several days, and so far, no flickering or pulsing. That's the biggest problem I have with lights these days. Sometime in the last decade or so, these plastic bulbs and floodlights flooded the market. Now, when I get a 6-pack, I expect at least one to flicker, pulse, or burn out within a month or two. Hopefully these will fare better. Read more
Good lifespan and no noticeable flickering. But tried with several dimmer switches and they buzz in each case. Read more
The color matches my Phillips brand flood lights in my track lights at full brightness. Yeah, I still have track lights. Lightolier brand and I spent a small fortune in the mid-eighties buying the stuff. Go ahead and judge me. :) Anyway. The light pattern is even and smooth. Very much like a GE 75 watt incandescent flood. Dimming is smooth, not jittery. I confess that I have a six pack of bulbs and I'm testing one bulb. No reason to think the rest will vary. Nice light bulbs. How long will they last, I have no idea. I've yet to have an LED bulb of any shape fail other than one lamp in a string of Christmas tree lights. For the price, go for it. Six bulbs for $27 or so beats the heck out of $9 per bulb on sale. Read more
I like that they are made of an unbreakable material. I have three different brands of flood lights in my kitchen and the color and hue is same as the other ones but this one is the brightest. I like that when I want my kitchen to be bright but when I dim them the lowest setting, they don’t dim enough for me. The I wonder if I replaced all of the lights with this one and dimmed it to the lowest setting, would it still be too bright? I still like these light bulbs. I hope they last 13 years (based on 3 hours/day) like they stated. Read more
