Very easy to put together. All the hardware is labeled and the instructions are easy. Its really well made, nothing about it looks cheap like some of the particle board desks can. The keyboard tray slide is already installed, you just have to put in on the track. The wood tone is dark on the one I bought. I really needed a larger desk for my office, so I got this one. It was wider and longer, but still fit my space perfectly. It was incredibly easy to assemble, and it comes with all the necessary tools. It has the drop down keyboard holder that I love, as it gives me more room on my desk for my large drawing tablet, and two monitors. It was also packaged insanely well, I don't think amazon could have broken it even if they tried. The only "downside" is that it's really heavy in the box. It took two people carrying it up my stairs, but after that, it's not too heavy you can't move the pieces by themselves. I'd recommend assembling it where you want to put it. Nice looking desk at a very good price. The desk is has a solid wood top with veneer and sturdy metal legs. It's surprisingly heavy! It arrived well packed with very clear instructions that made assembly pretty straight forward. Probably the easiest assembly I've ever attempted, with only a few minor issues - one of the bolt holes was slightly cockeyed which took a little finagling to get the bolt in straight. Another bolt hole was partially filled with some debris (probably dried glue) but I was eventually was able to gently pry out the material to get the bolt in. I would have rated 5 stars except the left front side of the drawer wasn't veneered so it looks rough compared to the rest of the wood top. I first saw this item in a Home Depot catalog mailer. I was looking to replace a very large desk that consumed the small room it was in. This looked like it would fit my needs and I especially liked the fact it was very open. I checked several websites looking at prices and reviews. Overall reviews were very good and Amazon had the best price so the order was placed. When the item arrived the carton had some re-tape done on one of the corners and there was a tear in the side of the carton. I opened the carton that day and this thing was packed extremely well. No damage of any sort and the instructions make it easy to confirm all the parts. The parts are clearly marked as well as the hardware in individual plastic packs. They even give you a packet of extra parts. Putting the desk together is easy and the directions are very clear. Holes were drilled accurately and all went together smoothly. I use this as a computer desk and was concerned about wire clutter with the open back. I ended up using 3M Command plastic clips along the back and down the leg to trail the wires. No clutter. Some of the other reviews reference this being pine and a softer wood but I will use a desk pad if needed and not treat it as a workbench. Very pleased with the purchase. See photo. Read more

This was super easy to assemble which was great! Really good quality which was surprising and very sturdy. For the price point it was fantastic! The MDF is very soft so I was able to drill out a hole that didn’t fit the corresponding bolt. One of the legs is shorter on one side than the other three. All four support braces were different sizes. One was so small I had to drill a new hole to attach it to the table. The flat surface had a minor cosmetic blemish which would normally not show but I got the white table so it is noticeable. Overall mid-quality so get it on sale if you can. The assembly is simple but pay close attention to what direction the parts are facing. A drill will speed up the process but keep in mind this is MDF not solid wood so proceed with caution. This is such a nice desk! Very sturdy. We previously owned a desk from a big box store that we put together and it was wobbly from day one. This desk is not at all like that. Had a hard time finding a desk with a keyboard tray, but this one is great! Nice sized and hardware already attached to the top. The finish is also very pretty. It's real wood! Slight varnish smell diminished by the next day. Feels like we should have paid much more for it, but I am so glad we didn't! The previous reviews about the pilot holes on the legs came in handy since it wasn't apparent in the instructions and the holes are really tiny so it could easily go unnoticed. We bought two of these in dark chestnut brown . It's a very dark chestnut brown, I really like that. I was looking for something sturdy that looked nice for an incredibly inexpensive price tag. My husband also had to have solid wood. The desk is solid something but it does have a thin laminate over it which is why it scratches. I nicked one but was able to take a black marker, touch the nick and wipe it away and you would never know it was there. This is not a piece you are going to hand down through generations but it is sturdy, looks great and is easy to put together. Oh, and other people commented on the keyboard tray - I agree, it barely fits a standard keyboard and mouse. My chair doesn't adjust so I put the keyboard in the tray and the mouse on the desk. It works fine until I find an adjustable chair I like. Read more
