My daughter asked for a simple desk for Christmas. She gave me the dimensions and off I went. I used this desk lamp on two different projects in the past so I immediately put one on order to use on her desk. They come with a AC adapter or it can plug into a USB2 port. As you can see in the attached photo, I used the recessed power block which includes the required USB power connection. The lamp includes different "color" settings ("color" of white) which I find useful. You can also change the intensity. My only complaint is that the control block just hangs there. I wish there was a way to easily attach it to the gooseneck. On my first project I coiled the excess wire and attached it to the bottom of the gooseneck with black vinyl electrical tape. It's OK but it would be nice to have a more elegant solution like a built in box on the gooseneck. Per the photo, I didn't use the desk attachment, I drilled a hole in the 1 1/2" thick desktop. It's great. Fits my needs well. Overall: The lamp itself otherwise is very nice and elegant. The swing arm is strong and stable, and can easily be adjusted to most angles you could need. Great product overall, and especially good value for the money. Disclaimer: I have to keep something between the bottom rails to keep them apart so that it won't bend into the wall. The picture shows the swing lamp against the wall. It works at the angle shown, but if you try and spin the lamp you will scratch your wall. If you only need a light up high, I recommend the gooseneck instead or placing a spacer at the bottom. Other possible Disclaimer: Also, the light cannot be connected to another switch. It will not turn on if you return power since it powers on by button. Most lamps of this style have this flaw. Read more
