I had one like this with the hollows underneath for the eyes and it was billed as "one size fits all" which was really too large for me. I wear a size 6 and 3/4 hat size. My old one also had a little square flap over the nose and that let a little bit of light in. This one however, not only fits me (the band is adjustable), but it is contoured for the face, slightly rounded on top and there is an indent for the bridge of the nose as well as nice deep hollows for the eyes. It comes down low over the cheeks so there is no light gaps at the nose. When you put it one it is LIGHTS OUT. You can completely open your eyes. Your eyelashes don't touch the inside of the mask and there is NO light. I had cataract surgery two years ago and I started wearing these type with the hollowed out portion for the eyes since they don't put any pressure on the eye. All of this and it comes with a nice little drawstring carry bag for travel. This is a really exceptional mask! Update: I got this in July and bought a second one! My comment is for the manufacturer. After Two months the stitching on the bottom of the mask where it rests over your nose is coming undone. I have sewn both of them by hand now, but I wanted to suggest to the maker than they put some more durable stitching on the underside of the mask. But it's still working great for me! Read more

I've slept with this mask for three nights and have noticed a few things which may annoy some: there is light that comes in around the nose. Now, not all noses are created equal so yours may be pretty light-tight. Also, if you have to adjust the mask strap and the adjuster is smack in the back of your head, you will feel it when on your back. Lastly, it is quite large for an eye mask so when I lie on my side, the edge of the mask are moved and more light seeps in. However, it keeps me from seeing my very bright room at 6am and I am sleeping a good 1.5 hours later with it! It is thick, cushioned and my eyelashes don't hit the inside which is important to me. I got this because it looks nearly identical to the sleep mask I use nightly now (which will need replaced eventually, it's showing signs of wear and tear now). The only significant difference is that this one is lacking and extra small flap of fabric around the nose area meant to help completely block any light. This one doesn't have it so light blockage isn't 100% perfect. But that's not too bad, but I suppose it would depend on the shape and size of your nose at to how well it fits the mask's nose curve. I included a picture of my old and this new mask so you can see how similar they are and that one little, but important, difference. But this new one seems like it may almost be just as good, but it does feel slightly "stiffer" than the old one but I figure that will go away with time and use. I do like the sockets for eyes that I can blink my eyes while it's on and I don't feel anything touching them. I like it to be pitch black when I sleep. I have blackout shades in all the bedroom windows, but light still creeps in and disturbs my sleep in the early morning, especially in the winter months due to daylight savings. I've tried many sleep masks and up until now the Rick Steve's sleep mask has been the reigning champ, but though it is very comfortable and sturdy, it still lets some light in by the bridge of the nose like many masks do. When I saw this Sleeping Mask I had to give it a try and test to see if it was truly a total blackout mask. Out of the package it felt very soft and plush. It has an adjustable strap and was easy to put on comfortably. I tried it on in a well lit room and to my amazement it was pitch black with the mask on. Even around the nose no light crept in, due to added form fitting cushion. It stays in place and is comfortable all through the night, and I'm a side sleeper who flip flops throughout the night. I can't speak to its longevity, but it appears to be well made with study stitching, and I think it will hold up for a long time. I already placed an order for another as a backup for travel, and wouldn't sleep away from home without it. Read more
