Between osteoarthritis and ehlers-danlos, I hardly sleep. We've had this mattress topper for more than six months and it has definitely helped. After switching to a new mattress a couple of years ago, we couldn't afford to switch again, so I did research and read reviews on this topper. Glad I did! It has enough cushion that it helps support my spine, and my hips aren't hurting as bad. The only downside is that you sleep a little bit warmer, but that's expected with anything you add to the bed. Bonus, it fits deep pockets, aka thicker mattresses! We've also had no problems with it slipping. My 19-year-old liked it so much that he asked one for Christmas for his twin bed! My mattress is still in good shape, but I was starting to have issues with pressure points, so after reading lots of reviews I bought the "4 Inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper" on Amazon. There are three versions to choose from: Plush: 3 inch memory foam, 1 inch of quilted topper Enhanced: 2 inch memory foam, 2 inch quilted topper Cooling Comfort: 2 inch memory foam, 2 inch cool-to-touch topper I opted for Enhanced version. Product shipped quickly and was easy to set up. Just open the seal, spread out the foam on the center of the bed, come back in a few hours and it's almost all the way expanded to the edges of the mattress. Mine did not have any stains or weird smell as some reviews have mentioned. I really wanted my first night sleeping to be a full comfort experience, but it wasn't. I have a history of issues with my cervical spine and situations like a too-soft bed can aggravate my condition. Unfortunately, this was the case for me with this product. First laying down, it was super comfortable. The gel pad has a nice conform to the body and spring-back. But when I would try to sleep, my head would be so much higher than my body, it put strain on my neck and was not only uncomfortable it would start to pinch nerves in my neck causing arm pain and numbness. This occurred with or without using a pillow. (Note: I know this is a ME problem and not a mattress problem.) After a couple of nights I decided to take off the gel pad and just use the 2 inch pillowtop. MAGIC! I now had exactly what I needed, some plush topping of my existing mattress and all pressure points eliminated. The loft in the pillowtop is perfect for me. I've been sleeping on it for 2 months now and it's still just as fluffy as when I first took it out of the box. When I change the sheets, it puffs right back up. I contacted the company to find out if they sell the pillowtop by itself, should I want another one, but it's not sold separately. The company answered my query within minutes and I was appreciative of the customer service. Even though the gel pad didn't work for me, I am very happy with the quality of the product and would recommend to someone who is in the market for a mattress topper. Let me help you out & save you tons of time... I spent HOURS online researching for the best, most cost effective mattress topper & I kept coming back to this one. I also checked the consumer reviews website as I do before I make any big purchases & this rating was high. I knew to not get anything less than 3", really 4" high, since over time you would have no benefit. The first hour I received this, it was already on my bed & it was so incredibly comfy. Everything is at first though, right?! I didn't realize it then but as the days go by this just gets better & better & better. I suffer from fibromyalgia & insomnia and was desperate to find something, anything, that would help instigate & sustain a better night sleep for me. I am still bewildered some mornings when I wake up with zero lower back pain & less aching in my body. If for some reason this one ever wears out or is destroyed, I would pay twice the price for another one. That is how much I love this thing!! Unlike some of the other mattress toppers I've had, this one does not move during the night nor does it move when I slide off my bed in the morning. With many others I have owned, I have constantly needed to readjust or pull more to one side or pull it back up to the top of my bed. I have none of that hassle with this. It stays completely put. This mattress topper is all one piece and is exactly like a mattress pad only everything is built nice & tidy into this one piece and you put it on just like you would a fitted bed sheet. So you would put this on first, then make your bed as you normally would with your sheets, blanket, comforter. There is no need for a mattress pad as this is all in one piece already. So when I first put this on my bed, I looked at it & figured the reviews I read lied!! LoL! I didn't believe something that looked so simple, could provide such comfort. I was so so wrong & this is one time I am ecstatic to be wrong!! I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy this. If you're on the fence about it, just know I did hours of research & have been using this now for over a month & I am in love!! This is hands down, one of THE BEST products I have ever purchased for myself! There is no reason to stay on the fence... It really is 5 star because I am sleeping so good now. Supportive and I do not wake up with aches and pains. But the one thing that is bad is the smell. It has a chemical smell. I laid it out on another bed for 2 days and during the day opened a window that was right next to it in hopes it would take away the smell faster. Well it did help some by the time I put it on my bed, but now after a week with it on the bed I can still smell it. Not as bad but the smell is still there. I really hate to say this because it really is so comfortable and I sleep so deeply now. But I have to honest. Read more
