This ankle brace is a bit complicated to put on, but it provides good support and is adjustable. Look at the instructions to get a sense of how to put it on. The two sets of laces are attached via a velcro strap, so not as complicated as it looks. The other straps wrap around your foot and ankle and have a stiffer brace that attaches via velcro to each side of your ankle. It was a bit clumsy at first, and the velcro seemed to want to grab my sock, but after a couple of days, I seem to have the hang of it. It is designed to fit over your sock and then you can wear your own shoe over it. It is less support than an orthopedic walking boot, but more than an ace bandage. This brace fit like a glove and quieted an inflamed foot so I could walk again. It hopefully will promote healing of the sprain. It is very adjustable and light. You will need looser shoes as it makes your foot a bit wider. It was a game changer for me. Read more
It's great and works well, my only complaint is about the size of sleeve that comes with it. It's too tight and I didn't notice it at first until I started feeling tingling and super cold in my toes and realized the sleeve was so tight that it was affecting blood circulation. WHcool slim fit ankle brace perfect exactly what I needed for a sprained ankle which was making it impossible for me to walk. This has a compression sock that I slip on over a small sock that o I already had just for toe and heel and then you need to take your time and put it on so it adjust perfectly be slow and gentle because the means for hooking it up are very very good but not meant to be jerked around there are two lace pulls for the lower foot and the upper foot and I usually do them both at least twice and get the ankle opening centered underneath after I do that I do the other straps around and when I’m finished, it’s a very secure very stable and comfortable brace. I recently also purchased KIZIK high top shoes which the brace easily slips into I bought one brace for each ankle because I was limping so much. I was causing stress on the second ankle that wasn’t sprained. It’s amazing how well I can get around now. I also purchased several other brands which I sent back after trying on because they didn’t provide the secure fit with the comfort. I also have for just short emergencies a little slip on ace bandage, which is helpful if it’s not serious I cannot recommend this brace enough. They really got everything down. Perfect. It has compression. It’s soft. It’s stable and it allowed me to walk when I couldn’t. I wear between an 8 to an 8 1/2 woman’s shoe and the medium was perfect. I also purchased a large, but that was a little too big for me. I had such high hopes for this brace after going through a major ankle sprain. For context, I am a petite woman (5'3 and about 120lbs - very athletic) and have very "dainty" ankles. I wish the laces were actual laces but they can only go so tight. It helped me get through the first few painful days but after that, the "laces" got loose and there wasn't a way to tighten them any further. It's a miss on my end... I'd recommend going to a physical therapist instead and save your money on the random amazon sellers TBH. *I will say that I should have likely looked for a youth sized brace looking back but here we are.
