So much better
I bought the queen size to replace the very old spring mattress in my parents' sofabed. It's a huge improvement. I'm very happy with this purchase. It fits and folds with perfect function at a decent price. A sofabed support board would make it even more comfortable, because I can still feel the frame under the mattress (it's still a sofabed, afterall); but compared to the previous bed of nails, it's like sleeping on a cloud. Heads and shoulders above the standard issue sofa sleeper mattress!
I have not slept on this sofa sleeper mattress, and I do not intend on a test drive. But I can tell you that this is an amazing upgrade to the crappy mattress that comes with the sofa. Looks to be very supportive for the application, and I am sure guests will appreciate it. The custom size sheets cost about half as much as the dang mattress. Toss the coil nightmare and dive into this fantastic upgrade. You'll be the host with the most! Read more

Think of it just as a mattress topper, not a replacement sofa bed.
I got this to actually put in an old sofa bed that we have, thinking I would use it to top that mattress, but it's definitely intended to just replace it - it's about 5 inches thick! The problem is that since it doesn't have any stiffness to it or springs or whatnot, it's just what you'd imagine it would feel like to lie on foam over a metal bar. :) If you have a newer sofa bed that has more of a platform rather than springs or metal mesh, this may work really well for you! Another thing to consider is that by replacing your old sofa bed with this, the density may not be enough to support the cushions when sitting, like it may sink it a lot more than expected. So in my opinion, this is just a mattress topper, for a regular mattress. Read more
