It amazes me how advanced these new scales are, especially with integration with apps. As a basic scale it works just fine. Turning it on wasn't clear, but we figured out you have to literally step on it to get it to know you're there. Then move your foot off, let the scale zero out, then stand with your feet on the biometric pads (this is important). If you don't, it will give you your weight but it won't be able to use its advanced functions. Relevant are that it gives you bodyfat percentage, weight, BMI. Using the app, it will show you a trend, and give you easy to understand green and red to tell you if you're good or not. I had a slight issue with the setup of the app though, as it tells you to scan a QR code that takes you to a page that sends you to your device store, but during the process I tried it on different phones and I had the same result of having a badly formatted gibberish page that was difficult to figure out where to tap. Eventually I got lucky and tapped a spot on the screen that let me set it up and once I did that, it worked fine. That step was frustrating. Otherwise now that it's working it's good. Read more

Overall, the scale works well, and comes in a ¾” heigh LED display, and is powered by 3 AAA batteries (included). I have another scale in the house and put it side by side, and it gave me the same weight measurement. Considering the price (currently $29), for what it does it seems to be a good buy. You can get some other scale for more features (Rechargeable, larger display, etc) but you would have to pay more. This is a good budget scale for what it does. The pairing to the phone was simple, and the app (Fitdays) was simple to connect to once the scale was paired with the phone. You must register with the app to get all the features of what it can measure. If you don’t want to use the app, you can change the weight unit from underneath the scale. Once register and connect the app to your phone (Android / IOS) and you weigh yourself, it tells you your weight, BMI, Body Fat, Muscle Rate, Lean Body Mass, Subcutaneous Fat, Visceral Fat, body Water, Skeletal Muscle, Muscle Mass, Bone Mass, Protein, BMR, Body Age, Fat Mass, Water Weight, Protein Mass, Ideal Body Weight, Obesity Level, Body Type. This is a great smart scale that does everything that a fitbit or withings scale can do. It is easy to set up and comes with 3 aaa batteries. The measurements are pretty accurate and are very close to what a fitbit smart scale measures. Just like any other smart scale, the body fat percentages are not very accurate but function well for relative measurements. The smartphone app is basic but does its job well. It does a good job of automatically recognizing different users based on the weight. It is straightforward to pair the scale to the app. The app does not ask for unnecessary permissions which is refreshing. The app is simple and once connected it keeps history of prior measurements. We have 4 people in our household, and it does a good job of recognizing each member every time. You can use the app to assign names to different profiles or change units. The scale gives many other measurements other than weight, such as Body Fat Percentage, Lean Body Mass, Body Mass Index, Composition of different types of Fats, Muscle Mass and Bone Mass, Body Age, BMR etc., Although, I wouldn't completely trust the absolute values, these measurements are good for relative measurements over a period of time. The LED display is just under 1 inch in height is pretty clear but might be a little difficult to read for someone with eyesight. The readings stay on for a few seconds after you get off the scale so one can bend down to note the readings, or the app will be updated with the measurements within a few seconds.
